95: You really have to get off Darren Styles, he makes music, music he likes, people like it, people buy it, you don't have to like it but stop complaining about it you're not going to change history.

So what you are saying is the whole scene revolves round Darren Styles! he's the pivot, the epicentre, the king of hardcore.

He's only 1 of hundreds of hardcore producers out there.

Hate these threads being started, you'll get nothing more than the same answer.

If you don't like hardcore then **** off, if you seem to care about oh when hardcore gonna die or is it gonna die, then you're not hardcore.

The scene won't die, people have been saying this for a little while now. It has slowed down a little. As there are too many people passionate about the music for it to die completly. The music is evolving a lot slower than it used too I think. But it is evolving.
Guys like Joey Riot, Kurt, Dougal, Gammer, Orbit1 etc are starting to use a lot of the newer production techniques from genres like Hardstyle, electro and House . This is the way foward for hardcore... FRESH SOUNDING TRACKS!!! Not re-hash the same old Trancey shit over and over.
You listen to all the sounds used in rave breaks cds from Slipmatt and Bunter. These are the types of sounds that should be used in the faster hardcore genre.
This is why rave breaks is becoming so popular. It's fresh and inovative!

95_was_the_time's obsession with one person looks like a mental disorder to me.

And no, hardcore is not going anywhere. I'll quote Nu Foundation who I interviewed for our upcoming event where he's headlining...

quote:
Q: What do you think of the UK hardcore scene as it is at the moment? What are its problems? Is it going in the right direction?

A: It's more diverse right now than it has ever been. Okay, so the smaller "styles" don't get the due attention, but that's natural. The more accessible sound is always going to get more exposure. As far as bookings etc. go, I can't say I'm exactly swimming in them, but things could be worse. So overall, I think it's okay and could stand to be a lot better for lesser known people such as myself.

Spot on I think. Hardcore will be fine. :)

'hardcore will never die'

from the moment somethin is born it is also dyin.

the critics had hardcore down as dyin and not lastin past christmas when it all started 'its just a phaze' how so wrong they were... hardcore is better and bigger than it has ever been.

hardcore will die at sum point along with everythin else in this life...

suppose it all depends on ones definition of "die" - i mean, Classical music.....thats not died, and has been round alot longer in its gadzillion styles than hardcore.....trance is still around, garage..house...rock....

commercially i guess a genre can die

as long as there are songs to cover then im sure hardcore will never actually "die" :P
same as all the other styles wont

Okay this is really ridiculous, Styles didn't destroy the scene, that's impossible, but he helped to change it.

Listen to that tune, it's a track from Styles ( Evolution ) and Force : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuDtcERky-g

That's a real tune ! And now compare this track with a new one : the style changed a lot. But it doesn't mean he destroyed the hardcore scene, he helped to change it to attract more people to hardcore.

BTW for the people who like the track I just showed, here's the original : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG6ofaI-wC0

he DOESN'T produce hardcore. let me repeat that. he DOESN'T produce "hardcore" how can you call what he makes hardcore just because it's fast and has a 4/4kick. now listen to the hardcore of the mid 90's with its "ave it" aproach to music making. I'm so pissed off they've kept the name hardcore, can't they just call it somthing else? if they did that everything would be cool with me.

darren style is a good PRODUCER yes... that's more a technical lable for him, a good producer, he makes some of the best vocal disco music anyone has heard. but it's not hardcore.
