Some people may not remember, some people may not even care. But anyway, here's the deal!
After much consideration, I have decided to resurrect the imprint I used to run a few years ago. The 'label', Innervision, during 2003-2005 saw 5 vinyl releases, and 1 digital release, with original tracks and remixes from artists such as: Invader, Stargazer (aka Cube::Hard), Dodgee, Freestyle, AMS, Lost Soul, Adam J, Shox, Oli G, Peter Kaine, Scope (aka Tazz)
>>> The reason I closed it back then?
It got a stage where I felt the entire thing was a rather pointless exercise and had no real objective. Everything had grinded to a halt and there was no real aim. I was also signing all my tracks to other people. As the label initially planned to be a bit of shameless self promotion for some of my tracks, and to also get some material out there quicker, that all kind of went tits up. Although there wasn't a massive amount of tracks released, all of them where cained by many of us lot up here, and it all had a great ethos of what we where doing at the time; the parties, our attitudes, the stupid shit we used to get up to - everything really! Even though much of it didn't have big name support, we just got on with it and enjoyed the music.
The label was also only really ever operated as a hobby, so to speak, but pressing records got expensive and sales got less and less. Running at a loss is just stupid, you do need to break even. I couldn't personally afford to throw away my hard earned cash. To co-incide with all this, during 2005, I found lots of things started drying up, the events, bookings and musically things did seem to change. Many people went their separate ways in life and also musically.
>>> Fast forward a bit...
After establishing myself within the Electronica Exposed production team with Shanty over the last few years, it was a real shame (but fully understandable and somewhat inevitable) to hear he was stopping all his Hardcore labels after the current schedule. This left me rather bewildered, as I had no idea what I was going to do. Electronica Exposed has been, for a while, the main outlet for a lot of my material. This is because Rich is a trustworthy guy and he also get's the tracks out there in a timely, professional manner. One of the few people I genuinely trust with my tracks. But, more importantly, he doesn't make you conform to any ******** ideals. So basically, without Electronica Exposed, I'm screwed!
Which brings me swiftly onto my next, and most favourite point.
I don't want to have to conform to any crap. I don't want to have to use *that* kick, or *that* synth, or make stuff at a certain bpm. I basically want some sort of musical freedom. I don't want to be told by any labels how my stuff should sound, I'm bored of all that.
So, now seems a good time as any to start releasing my tracks again on Innervision :) Most of what I put out (for the moment) will be my own material and collabs. This is a great oppurtunity for me to finish stuff, and then instantly put it up for digital download. And by that, what I mean is, the tracks will be finished, professionally mastered, then uploaded usually same day.
Anyway, what to expect…
