Listen to tracks Reese makes and then say that again...

I don't really see "it has to change over time" as a good argument. Up until recently hardcore always had its distinguishing charactaristics, REGARDLESS of how much it changed. Like the general underground (non-commercial) feel, which is all but gone.

Too bad you don't have some goat-related time machine.
I have a mountain goat.

get over yourself, listen to some things you don't see on htid or clubland advertisements...
if you can honestly listen to something like reese - cross the line and tell me that male vocals in hardcore suck and that it doesnt sound underground... i will be amazed

Last good compilation (the best of all in my opinion, 90% of the tunes are just superb) was TRUE HARDCORE VOL.1 (the 2nd one besides half a dozen tunes like Phase 2 Phase was very very poor and the MC'ing cheesy), that was over 1 year and a half now.
All compilations since have been poor to horrendous... Looking forward to Hard Core - The Classics at the end of this month ! Thank God there is hard dance out there as to me the new "hard core" is nothing like it used to be. Hard dance is becoming harder (Dark By Design, Tidy Boys, K Complex, Yoji Biomehanika, Pulsedriver)... Hard core is becoming softer. Unreal !

Best hard core compilation of all times ! :) I can't stand scratching (remins me rap "music") and MC'ing but this album was done really nicely. Second volume was poor, only a few good tunes. I must have listened to volume 1 non stop for the first few weeks. Neighbours must have been sick of it too...
PS: Is it just me but the voice on "i live for the music" (Sy and Unknown remix/DISC1) does sound like Danny Dyer's ?

I liked the 2nd one too! I found Sy & Unknown were stronger on the 2nd than on the first, while Dougal & Gammer were stronger on the 1st one. Supreme & Sunset Regime clearly improved between the two albums, but they're the weakest on both I find.

to continue tommyc's What's wrong with the "hardcore" today.
I'd say Chavism. yes, chavs took over the scene and ruined it.
