I'd say Chavism. yes, chavs took over the scene and ruined it.
I wish MC would **** off from the events ! Im sure that would turn away most of the chavs.

maybe try other styles of hardcore instead of just "happy hardcore"
and that will break it up a bit...takes the monotony away....
thats what i do...i dont restrict myself to one style...so less chance of gettin bored
Thats My 2 Cents...LOL
Sequencial One??? don't u mean Sequential One? and if it's the same person that I am thinking of, that should be ATB (Andre Tanneberger) and he hasn't done anything that remotely sounded like happy hardcore since 1995
And earlier posters mentioned male vocals. there is absolutely nothing wrong with male vocals. there's only somethin wrong with it when a guy who can't sing (darren styles) starts puttin his vocals on some songs, making it sound corny as hell (i can't stand feel love)
i think 1000 Kisses and See you On The Other Side have some of the best male vocals out there and i'm sure there are more

I wouldn't say Darren Styles can't sing. I find he's got a similar style to the likes of Simple Plan and those pop punk/rock bands, but the cheesyness of it fits Hardcore better.
I agree though that Re-Con has a much better voice and some nice singing skills on top of that.

I love samples of vocals and little snippets of vocals, but I just outright hate when it gets to the breakdown, and some girl sings about some cheesy ass love shit...geez. Thats what is wack about hardcore for sure. I hate having to skip through most of the tracks in an album just to get to the good ones. I really liked hardcore heaven 4, especially kevin energy's mix. Or sharkey's mix on bonkers 17. In my opinion that is hardcore, less vocals about some stupid love shit, and more beats.

I don't think it's really about what the lyrics are speaking of. Even if 3/4 of the time they're about love, they rarely make any sense whatsoever and are often very grammatically wrong. The vocals, especialy in Happy Hardcore, are just another layer of instrument. I personally find that full-on (as opposed to chopped-up and synthesized) vocals give the song a more organic feel and I don't think I would be into Happy Hardcore like I am if it wasn't for them, and I'm sure it's the case for a whole lot of people, especially seeing the immense popularity of vocal anthems. A song without any vocals will rarely rise to anthem status, although there are a few exceptions.

I like to hear looped/sampled vocals because I like to hear crazy effects done to them. Like in Brisk & Vagabond's remix of "Show Me Your Passion", and the Kurt mix for "Bring Me Back". I love cheesy vocals! Just because a Hardcore track has cheesy vocals doesnt make it any less Hardcore than your Freeform. Just different styles. I would personally love to hear chipmunk vocals again at production BPM, so that it sounds even more chipmunky when you do use the track in a mix!! :)

Have you ever climbed a mountain, and tried to touch the stars?
Have you flown a rocket to the moon, or maybe even Mars?
Have you swam beneath the ocean, or surfed a tidal wave?
These are the dreams I'm dreaming, The fantasies I crave!

every musical genre reaches a point when it becames boring, somehow it discovers the holy grail of making a song, and then everybody just copy that same pattern; some times the result is good and some times it sucks. the problem is when you hear lots and lots of songs and everything sounds the same, they have copied the pattern perfectly, but it just doesnt makes you feel anything....

What are you two bitchin' about? Yall have your Freeform & Gabba, let the rest of us enjoy what "Happy" UK Hardcore we have left! You two sound like you dont even appreatiate the music as it is. The majority of Hardcore, since the mid 90s, has always been known for its uplifting vocals, ranging from sugary sweet lovey lyrics, to deep emotional ones. If the UK style doesn't fit your taste, then head on down the street to Freeform. Like every other genre of Electronic dance music, there is a sub-genre for everyone.
