yes!
What are you two bitchin' about? Yall have your Freeform & Gabba, let the rest of us enjoy what "Happy" UK Hardcore we have left! You two sound like you dont even appreatiate the music as it is. The majority of Hardcore, since the mid 90s, has always been known for its uplifting vocals, ranging from sugary sweet lovey lyrics, to deep emotional ones. If the UK style doesn't fit your taste, then head on down the street to Freeform. Like every other genre of Electronic dance music, there is a sub-genre for everyone.
Go listen to Bonkers 9/10 and compare how many tracks are flooded with vocals. Listen to UFO - Punk or UFO - Hardcore, had either of them been produced today there would have been some horrible lyrics shoved in there, but theres not, and they are better without.
But i guess the fact that "Pretty Green Eyes" was a big hit back then proves im part of a minority.

The argument isnt about majorities or minorities.
Everyone's tastes differ. You don't like vocal tracks - fair enough.
A lot of people do - thats fair enough too.
Thats why theres subgenres. But to say either is actually BAD in context apart from opinion, is incorrect.

Assuming that a 2008 hardcore remix of Ferry Corsten - Punk would absolutely have to include vocals is ridiculous. Same goes for UFO - Hardcore.
By the way, there still are plenty of vocal-less hardcore tracks being produced. Here's a good example: GSDX - History http://shop.happyhardcore.com/View/25360/ Unfortunately, some people, especially on these boards, seem to boycott Hardcore releases by the big htid names because their not 'underground' enough, so quite a few people have certainly missed on that one, since it was on True Hardcore 2 last summer.

and Toy Town has a vocal mix! (which I prefer). It is part of the exceptions I can think of though, along Elysium and Starlight.

man there is nothing like rocking a set with 1000 + people in front of you that happen to know the words to the songs you're playing.
that is something that makes the track special, when the crowd is feeling it so much to learn the words :)

They're not exceptions, because it's not a rule. Loads on tunes without vocals have become anthems.

I don't think you quite know what Im trying to say here. I love HAPPY hardcore aswell, and I love chipmunk vocals TOO! I like when vocals are chopped up in an impressive way, but I don't like when the GIRLS SING ABOUT LOVE! I loved give love a chance by jakazid, that is happy, cheesy hardcore, with chopped up samples of vocals and its brilliant! But say for instant, it comes to the breakdown and the girls like I need you in my arms, i love you so much, i want you so bad, lets be together forever...thats wack to me. Sometimes I grin and bear it as I don't want to tamper with the flow of the mix if I'm listening to a mix, but sometimes it is unbearable...
I love every type of hardcore, happy, freeform, oldschool, breakbeat, what have you, but I just find lyrics are getting worse and worse in hardcore...
If I'm not mistaken, hardcore with really bad lyrics is called cheese hardcore, right?

Cheese referes to tracks like "Steamtrain", "Toytown", "Friends", "Eurocore" mainly songs with really "childishly" happy melodies or really sappy lyrics. Not bad lyrics, just extremely cheesy lyrics

Are we seriously discussing what Hardcore has good or bad lyrics? Hardcore is DANCE music, just like Eurodance or Hard Trance. You'll agree with me that these genres are not exactly the listening type, trying to reach the listeners emotions and minds through deep and intelligent texts.
In Dance music, and that includes every genre of dance music from Disco to Gabber, the lyrics are just another layer of instrument, meant to compliment the arrangements of the percussions, the bass and the synths.
If someone thinks that some Hardcore track has truly intelligent and thoughtful lyrics, they should post examples, because I fail to know of one to this day.

That many, really? I struggled to think of a couple of examples, but maybe you could give us a few more? We're talking of songs with major popularity that almost everybody in a party room would know and go crazy for, don't forget.

I understand that dance music doesn't focus on the lyrical content of their tracks. All I'm trying to say here is I prefer hardcore lyrics like PCP SAVED MY LIFE or some random shit, rather than some pop, love song. Fair enough? I know I will not be able to get through to alot of people, and vice versa, so after all is said and done, lyrics will remain in hardcore either way, but I just wish they would tone down the cheese.
