Looking at getting a new set of needles, currently using ortofon concord djs, was thinking about getting either the shure m447 or m44g my main concern is record wear, does anyone know which needles would be best for low record wear still with reasonable tracking and sound quality?

I use shure m447 and i think they are they best carts iv ever used. esp if you scratch. i always wondered this myself, i did a search on google and i found a reveiw on a scratch forum by a scratch dj who tested em for a few weeks. he foung that if you set them up properly the m44-g's track just as well as the m447s but with less weight, so less record wear. they also sound slightly better than the m447's. ill try and fing the link, it was a really good review. on scratchworks i think. as soon as my m447s wear out im gonna move onto m44gs after readin that

Shure Whitelabel

Best. Ever. More expensive than the 44-7s but it's worth it.

Unless you're gonna use them at raves, then stick to M44-7s since they track a bit better (but need more weight/cause more record wear). They also last longer in rough conditions.

the 44g's are slightly less skip resistant than the 447s

I'd recommend ortofon q-bert om's

the cartridge was created for optimal performance across the board and has some of the highest specs for scratching, record wear and output
