Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and knows a solution.
I recently took my decks to a gig and found that when the volumes were turned up high you could hear a nasty feeback coming from the left side deck, it sounds like it was not earthed even though the earth cable was attached. I have bought some new RCA and earth cables but they have not arrived yet. Do you think this will solve the problem? i have been researching on the internet and it seems not many people have had this problem and i am worried it is the tone arm. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated :D

I would say that it's the GND myself.

Check for continuity between the earth lead which connects to your mixer and the part which the red arrow is pointing at in this image. To clarify, it is the piece of metal which the cart touches when it slides inside, not the pins, just the outer shell with the two holes. You should get a connectivity between these points. Ill do a 3d view to show you better cause that image is too small

I had this problem with my 1210's. it ended up being the cable that was the problem, so ui got nice thick oxy free cables put onto them, what a difference it makes to have great phono's on the decks, u can acutely hear the difference between the crap ones u get and the nice oxy free ones.

Ok, i believe i have this problem with one of my decks, it makes a really loud buzz when there is no cart attached and it is only when i put metal on the inside of the tonarm that it stops, even when cart is attached buzzing is still audable at high volumes. Is there any way to fix this without replacing tonearm? seems only to be on one side and only one pin on the tonearm is buzzing (top left)

i think it might be the wires inside the arm, if that is the case is it really bad news?
