ok, so i was cranking some hardstyle quite loudly. my stereo is set up so that there are two speakers sitting on an empty shelf on the wall. next thing i no there is a massive thump and my speaker is lying 1 metre lower than its normal spot on the shelf. the bass bounced the speaker off the shelf. weird. no physical damage to the speaker itself as far as i can tell, so i am still happy. i did turn the volume down slightly when i got it going again though
thought i would share

I used to have a 1.5k system set up in my bedroom which we used for parties. That used to get the house shaking. You could hang balloons up & the bass would burst them.

You can feel the air being pushed out of our speakers when it's turned down low - on high with bass on it's awsome.

I have a crappy logitech X-540 speaker system, although the bass reception/quality in it is insane. One time I set the bass to max and everything on the desk shuffled around. A few CD cases fell on me too. :s

=P ive just got a sony 3cd stereo. each speaker box has a 5 cm tweeter 6" woofer and 6" sub.
out of curiosity, what is the difference between watts RMS and watts PMPO? my stereo is rated at 120w + 120w RMS and 2600w PMPO apparently (so says the sticker on it).

im probly gonna sound like a retard but anyway. RMS is like the average power output of speakers over a long period of time, and ive herd its the power ur supossed to run ur speakers at. PMPO is like rms but it measures the output over miliseconds. thats what google came up with =]
