Hey guys,
Still kinda new here, but i just wanted to ask what programs do you use to create music?
Personally I use Logic Express 8 on my Mac, im having a bit of trouble getting the sound i want, i was wondering if anybody else uses Logic and if you could give me some help.
The other kinda n00bish question i have to ask is what is the difference between Gabba, Hard Style, Hard Bass, Hard Dance, Hardcore, etc. If you know of links to help with the differences between them, that would be great!!
Keep the Beats Flowin'

no problem.
IMO best names in hardcore are: gammer, kurt, kev energy, cube::hard, fracus, darwin, sy, clsm and scott brown. Look for those guys and you wont go far wrong.
As for gabber: Tommyknocker, angerfist, endymion, nosferatu, evil activities, stunned guys, tha playah, ophidian, neophyte.

i use logic and it is pretty dam easy to use i found just because of the layout what you want to do is try and get Best out of ES1 and ES2 i still use ES1 for allot of my basses because there are a few patches on there that have that nice warm sound.
the ESX24 is your sampler a low CPU alternate to Kontact great sampler Easy to use basically all you have to do is go to edit window then drag and drop a sample from the media browser stretch the sample over desired note range and you are done and from there you got a wide range of options to manipulate the sample within the ESX or use addition DPUs (Dynamic Processing Units - Compressors, reverbs, gates ect)
Here are some great free plugins to get you started
http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=45 http://www.audjoo.com/Helix.html http://kunz.corrupt.ch/?Products:VST_TAL-BassLine http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/LMC-1/index.asp http://www.luxonix.com/home/en/downloads.html?id=main http://www.betabugsaudio.com/plugs.php http://http://kunz.corrupt.ch/?Products:VST_TAL-Dubaraldfx.com/sg1/ http://www.fluxhome.com/products/Freewares/bittersweet2 http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=koreplayer http://www.sonalksis.com/index.php?section_id=99 http://www.rndigital.org/inspector.html http://www.wwaym.com/nwbass.html http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/download.html as far as drum samples go if you got ultra beat try and learn it I have not learn’t it yet but from what I have seen you can get crazy results out of it but if drum synthesis isn’t you ting get a Vengeance Sample pack they are great when you are starting out most of the samples need very little EQ or compression because they have already been processed as long as you have picked right sample for the track should have to do very little just the odd EQ cuts here and there or get a Zero-G sample pack same thing with them nice clean samples that need very little processing http://www.vengeance-sound.de/ http://www.zero-g.co.uk/ as far as mainstream vstis go just do a bit of research
