i cant help but feel for the 45000 people that are about to be thrown out of work, and at least 30 of them are very good friends of mine :(

I've never been a customer with Circuit City before. Nor Best Buy or any of those electronics retailers (I usually buy all my electronics online). Last time I was in Circuit City I remember all the prices being insanely high.
This is what pisses me off with capitalism. You start off with a massive bubble that grows and grows, then it pops, and only the fit survive. Many (certainly not all however) smaller business fizzle out while (most, not all) bigger corporations stay. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's a vicious cycle that just goes on forever until the people revolt or we have something among the lines of Buy N Large.

lol buy n large
doesn't suprise me that cc went kaput. seems like most of the time their prices were a lil higher whenever I price shopped for things. still sucks for all the employees. (thought it was ~35,000?)
only retail electronics store I shop at is fry's, everything else I get online.
still don't understand why they couldn't get a lender seeing how most of the banks are getting bailouts. *shrug*

They did but only price-wise. They were both equally as bad in most other areas.

never cared for circuit city. the times i did go they had lousy customer service, highass prices, and for some reason i just never felt comfortable being in there in the 1st place
i much prefer best buy, altho most of my electronics, dvds and cds i get online. as far as big electronics, i don't really buy much of them seeing as how i'm dirt poor most of the time but usually when i need something i go 2 walmart
