My point is, The Simpsons hasn`t changed. The writing wasn`t as spot on as it it used to be, and in the 12-17th seasons they kind of had a drought, but lately it has greatly improved, and the movie is much proof of that. John Schwartzwalder is the king of Simpsons writing.
sorry but u just contradicted yourself. all shows change from what they were originally and simpsons is no exception. not just the animation, but also the writing as well. simpsons was good at one point but it has been inconsistent. they change writers too frequently to become stable and funny at the same time. altho I will agree with you that the movie was amazing. it really brought back memories of the show at its peak.
now I enjoy south park because it takes it to the extreme. and also, the writers haven't changed. matt stone and trey parker are owners, writers, and creators of the show since the beginning. what was great is that even tho the writing strike went on, they still came out with new episodes because the were the owners and writers of the show.
and family guy is pretty funny too, except that some of the simile jokes are starting not to be as funny or make any sense to me. not too big on family guy watch it every now and then but nah
What I meant was that even though the writers have changed, the general story arcs have been the same. It hasn`t gone off the deep end like many have claimed.
Also, the movie did seem like an enlongated old episode because that`s what they planned to do.
Al Jean
Ian Maxtone-Graham
George Meyer
David Mirkin
Mike Reiss
Mike Scully
Matt Selman
John Swartzwelder
Jon Vitti
That`s who wrote it along with Groening and James Brookes. All those writers were seasons 3-10, easily their best seasons.
And the Family Guy movie WAS an enlongated episode. So is the Blue Moon DVD.
