that plucky string should come in untill later in the song and the stuff at the start needs leveling out..

the breakdown doesnt really have a creschendo of anykind and the bassline bit isnt in tune..

the bit after just has the same synth and again the bass is out of tune.. you need a new crash lol!!!

the vocals dont really fit in with the song as well.. the offbeat bassline is ok and the kick & percussion are O.K..

it needs alot doing to it.. basically make another song, but
stick at it!!!

i used to be at exactly the same stage as you are.

Oh btw.. i suggest you get z3ta+ and try and make some proper hardcore synths..
and id stick to the offbeat bass stab if i were you..

how are you supposed to write music if you don't know the basic element of writing music?

you dont need keyboard lessons.. just basically continue messing about on fl.. it will take time but eventually you learn the tricks..

i use fl8 and tbh your not looking for better software.. your just looking for practice.

@typeR: dont be a winnat..

what's a winnat? also, if you don't know chord structure then you'll have a bit of a hard time mating basslines with leads and such. that's easy to combat, just listen to a lot of music and try to emulate what you hear.

"Gutted"? "Winnat"? *confusion*

While being able to successfully play a keyboard isn't necessary, it helps.
