Hi here's a few mixes I've done, I hope this works.

Happy Hardcore Anthems 1994-2008 Vol 1
http://www.mediafire.com/?yn5nlymz1ym

Happy Hardcore Anthems 1994-2008 Vol 2
http://www.mediafire.com/?nm0dmfz1nz5

Happy Hardcore Anthems 1994-2008 Vol3 (coming soon)

Happy Hardcore 1995
(My first mix I was pleased enough to share with others. You'll notice I liked SY's style of music back then. Some basic scratching as well)
http://www.mediafire.com/?tjm2mjdkwmm

Happy Hardcore A Mixed Bag
(Some random Happy Hardcore tracks that didn't really fit with anything else, some even hardcore/jungle crossover. Some great tunes though)
http://www.mediafire.com/?ynyznnwzfyw

Feel free to comment. I have so many anthems it was difficult to choose what to put on. I have left out some obvious anthems and I'm sure I'll get a bit of critisism for this, most noticeably Heart Of Gold. To be honest the middle break bugs me these days.

Toby

just finished listening to all of them...

part one the mixing is perfect, and thats a sweet remix of piano progression! really got into it as it got toward the middle of the mix - lovin' the dune track thrown on at the end..quite a few classics in this one :D

loving part 2 even more, classics upon classics all seemless as well! making my time at work fly! thankyou :) broken wings is such a tune!!! just cant fault donna grassie.

lovin the mixed bag too - lots of golden oldies in there im guessing you must be very proud of your vinyl collection! some of the tunes in the last few mixes are raritys now arent they!

95 style, scratchings dead clean and crisp, enjoyed all the music mixing was again spot on.

thanks again for sharing - these mixes are well worth listening to for anybody else considering a dl and listen

thanks again for sharing..:)

Hi, thanks for the compliments. I've kept the mixing pretty clean, ie no fader work (except one mix, to keep the mixing as good as possible. I've just used the odd loop and flanger here and there. If I'm not doing a CD then I tend to use more tricks, but then the mixing can go out slightly.
Yes, apart from my Fiancee my vinyl collection is my most precious thing. Approaching 20 years old now for some of them (I've got some real good proper old skool stuff).
I agree with what you said about the piano progression mix, I have them all but this is my favourite. It's a very slow mix though (155bpm) so if it wasn't for having the Special edition Mark V SL1210's that in the flick of a switch the pitch control can change from +/- 8%
to +/- 16% I wouldn't ahve been able to mix it.
And finally, I'm another Donna Grassie fan, to me the best hardcore vocalist. Got a lot of tunes with her on it, a lot by Ramos and Supreme. In fact I've done a mix somewhere with some older 'Ramos' style tunes on, I'll see if I can dig it out and upload it on here.

Cheers, Toby

P.S I Mixed part 3 of my Anthems Collection today, with tunes from about 2002 onwards. Took a few attempts to get it as good as I like because about 3 tracks go out quite a lot (I believe I'm not allowed to list tracks?). Don't know if it's just my pressings or if they're all like that. Had to learn where they were so I could correct them before it could be noticed :-/ It really bugs me when I get a poor pressing. 2 of em are Raver Baby tracks. Come on fellas, do a proper job ;-)

Just for the record, are you DJ snerkler or just snerkler?

Neither actually ;-) Snerkler was just a stupid internet name that was concocted during a drunken evening and it's stuck. My DJ name is DJ Funnyman. The name came about from my surname; Gunnee. My mates all called my Funny Gunnee, and when I started DJing they just started calling me DJ Funnyman.

That's funny, I don't class that stuff as oldskool, that was the music in my raving days. Oldskool to me is late 80's early 90's, Praga Khan, Baby D , 2 Bad Mice etc etc ;-)

As promised here's volume 3 of my anthems collection. Ranges from about 2002 to 2008. Not going to events these days and subsequently don't buy as many records, no where near in fact so I apologise if there's some big tunes I've missed out.
http://www.mediafire.com/?nknwmizj5tz

Here's the Ramos style mix I was talking about earlier in this thread. It's basically a mix containing tunes regularly played by Ramos, so slightly more unusual tracks to the regular anthems. Features some of my favourites tracks though, and a fair amount of Donna Grassie on the vocals. Bit of scratching at the end which ain't the best
http://www.mediafire.com/?mqznltjyazn

Finally I thought I'd bang this one on. It's a slightly different style, being more trancey/bouncey techno, a lot of the stuff played by fergus in the mid 90's. So any regular raver of Vibealite and Pleasuredome in the mid 90's should recognise most of these. By the way if anyone knows the titles and artists of the original versions of tracks 3,5 and 6 please please please let me know :-)

just got done listening to all of em!

first: really enjoyed it, a few new classics in there! - the sound quality is a bit
bubbly which is wierd, sounds almost like the songs are sped up but pitch locked so they
dont go up in pitch - very odd!

second mix: mixing spot on, as per all the others lol - scratching was great, should have
done more during! didnt hear any donna grassie though!??!!

last one: enjoyed the start, but im not the worlds biggest fan of the old-skool-gabber
style - might recommend this one to smoogie, he gets all giddy over scottish bouncy
hardcore! i knew the versions you played of 3 and 6..but i dunno what the originals are
called..

how long have you been DJing for?

Been DJing for about 13-14 years I think. I got to the national finals in 96, held at the Pleasuredome, and had been doing it for about a year before then. Started out with some belt drive soundlabs, and when I got some free shares when Halifax changed from a building society to a bank I went straight out and bought some 1210 mk2's ;-) Since then I've 'upgraded' to the 1210 mk5 G's.

You're probably right about not hearing Donna Grassie, I started questioning myself after I'd posted it. I've not listened to it for a while, I think there's a few with Heidi on isn't there instead? I'm such a sieve head at times ;-) Sorry abut that. I'll have a listen to it sometime this week. I do have a mix somewhere with a few tracks on with Donna on the vocals. I'll see if I can find it. It might be on tape though :-/ I might have to dig out all of my tunes with her on and do an new mix. Trouble is I'm not at home very often at the mo :-/
By the way, can you remember who does the vocals on Forever Young? I'm not going to be at home for a few days to check my vinyl.

With regards to the sound quality what exactly is wrong with it? My original MP3 plays ok. I think that I could have done with changing my needles before recording but apart from that it sounds fine. The pitch is certainly ok :-/

Cheers, Toby

wierd lol - anyway, the vocals on forever young? as in alphaville? ive no idea

have you heard Donna Grassies non-hardcore stuff? she was in a group called Cynical Blend

i have their promo album "inverse catch 22" its really really good
kinda rocky/alternative meets chillout

you can tell you've been Djing so long, and not surprised you got into the national finals in 96'

did you manage to get any footage or anything from it?
