Happy Hardcore? I guess slammin vinyl was ONE of them yeah. I think hectic as well. I know gotta believe was one of the first Happy Hardcore tracks as we know them and I believe that was hectic's 3rd release. I'm sure someone on hear will know the oldest label though :-)
If it's just hardcore then I guess you have to start looking at labels like moving shadow, production house and ones like that. XL have been around for a while

It all depends how far back you want to go. Some people say hardcore started around 88/89 hardcore didnt start til around 92/93 for me so id say slammin yea was one of them. When did united dance 1st start?

The way it should be classified is into Hardcore and Happy Hardcore. Hardcore was the start of it all, and was back in 88/89. Happy Hardcore derived from hardcore and started about 93 when Hardcore went 2 distinct ways, Happy Hardcore and Jungle (which obviously then progressed into Drum n Bass). If we want to be really picky I guess all of it is house/dance music ;-)
That's how I understand it anyway :-)

I'd say Clubscene Records played a huge part in pushing early hardcore! It was pushing all the Scottish Bouncey Techno which, inturn, became the Hardcore we have today

no that early hardcore falls into my favorite genre categories, but 23rd Precinct released som older Q-tex stuff, but that might just be the eurodance stuff

SMD 1 and Slammin Vinyls first release came at about the same time. Those were really the first "happy hardcore" labels - ones that could be defined as happy hardcore in retrospect. I mean, Moving Shadow and Sub Base made tunes that were happy and hardcore, but SMD and Slammin ONLY made those sort of tracks. Impact too...Kniteforce came after those.

Is this the genuine Luna-C posting here, the one who made arguably the greatest Hardcore track of them all, Piano Progression, or is it someone who has stolen the name?
Cheers, Toby
