hey guys i was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips on making a shit hot hardcore bassline

i use ableton 7 to create my tracks i havent been doing it that long i would say just over 8 months

but if anyone could give me any tips or advice it would be great cheers since i wanna become a super badass producer/dj :P lol

i use plugins like nexus , vangard , and superwavep8 for my synths and bass

oh and also

i use saw waves and sometimes pulse and put a auto filter on them

You will probably want to layer two (or more) sounds together. I make most of mine with two.

This is an easy way to make a fairly standard sounding off-beat Hardcore bass.

First create a bass sound that you like (or find a sample). Try and make/find one that has a lot of mid presence. Distort it. Cut the bass off of it using a high pass filter rolling off from around 100-200Hz using a medium slope.

Next make a simple sine wave that plays mainly very low frequencies and run a high pass filter on it sat at around the same point as the low pass on your other layer.

From here you can experiment to make things more interesting.
