hey dooooooooooooooooooooooods
for the rest of you vinyl junkies like myself - what carts you guys using?!?!?!!?!
im getting rather annoyed at the lack of reviews for cartridges on the net - ive come across a couple...but not enough.
in 2000 i had shitty decks and a pair of stanton 505al's - and in 2003 i upgraded my decks and bought a pair of Ortofon Concorde DJ S to go on em...
these shiney blue ones..
amazingly enough, they are still £69 for one, brand new, which is how much i paid in 2003! :|
up until today...because i want a second pair, and want to know what you guys think
i want great sound - but they need to be able to stand up to my manic scratchingness
sooo, yeah - what you guys using? are you enjoying them? sound and tracking wise how are they holding up?
*edit* i take it back, im finding more and more reviews now... but would still like to hear your responses :)

the dj s are amazing needles, u dont need any others.
1 paid £110 for a pair around 2001 and cant fault them like. I had them for about 4 year n only had to replace the cart once due to someones amatuer dmc style abuse.

pair of ortofon qbert oms & ortofon scratch oms are my back ups
the concorde contact pins don't match up with a s tonearm's contacts 100%. concordes were made for straight tone arms.

I use ortofon night club (yellow tips) myself, if you want to scratch get the pink tips... ortofon kicks ass, you can always tell a good cart by tapping the deck and if you hear noise in the speakers it's not good... even if I tap the cart itself I get no noise through the speakers for ortofon :)

I've got some Oftofon Concordes too. :) Not even sure what they are as my brother got them for my 21st. Blimey, I've had them 3 and a half years now!

got my concordes S back in '98. They've only seen a couple of needle changes and a heck of a lot of scratching. Great needles in my opinion.
