After realising that inputting notes in Cubase using the sequencer is ****ing impossible for me, I decided to get a midi keyboard. Had my eyes set on the Virus TI untill I found out it was gonna cost me 3000$. Anybody know a good midi keyboard for $100-500.

Why is it impossible?
I find it easier.

I suck at playing the keyboard. :( Always have to edit loads of shit in the piano roll (or whatever it's called in Cubase). Can only get better though I guess. :P I find a midi keyboard essential for automation though. Saves getting wrist cramps from trying to do things one by one with a mouse.

I didn't mean easier than FL, I meant easier than using a keyboard. I usually figure out a basic riff with the keyboard and then input it with a mouse... lol
and I don't even use a MIDI keyboard for automation. I just draw it in with a mouse... Easy in Cubase IMO

I must confess I've not tried doing automation in Cubase like that yet.

I've seen both sides, some people can't do anything without a midi controller / keyboard some don't need it at all. There are midi only controller keyboards out there in your price range.
