His "Flashlight" song has a decent amount of lyrics.
Sure, a lot of HHC was based on short vocal samples and that influence has carried on into newer song compositions even though the vocals are sung rather than sampled...but it looks like Mr. Styles is diversifying and coming up with tracks with a full set of lyrics.
"Sorry" and "Flashlight" are two good examples.
I thought the original post had a point and wasn't meant to slag Darren Styles...it was just an observation. I'm sure he realizes this too, but hey it's a fan favourite and there isn't much for lyrics...what can you do? Well, besides remixing the track with full vocals. :P
When it comes to live performances you just have to be decent...you just can't afford to be ear-cringing. So many bands have been successful despite the lack of singing talent, from The Offspring (personally I think there's a charm in Dexter's voice) to My Chemical Romance...they still draw crowds despite having troubles replicating their pre-recorded performances.

Darren Styles is only good when he produces with Force or Breeze.
Also he sucks at singing except on a few fluke tracks.
Jus sayin'

As I said in another thread, I'd rather songs have sampled vocals, but if I had to choose somebody to sing vocals over a song, it would be Darren Styles. Something just about his delivery sits right with me.
