personally, i like breaks a whole whole lot which also strangely enough made me like BB hardcore a lot more.
or maybe it was the other way around, i forget.
so i'm looking for a used collection of breaks around where i live now, and i'll try my hand at that.
my question here is, what would YOU spin if hardcore didn't exist (or you just grew up one day and decided it was time to move on).

I would be spinning Trance.
Uplifting trance is so good it makes hardcore sound like shit made by a 13 year old. (Hixxy, Styles and the rest)
Brisk makes Hardcore sound like REAL Hardcore that I want to hear :)

i never hear good epic trance anymore, it's alway the boring put-you-to-sleep crap.

DnB, Hard Trance, Hard House, House, Trance, Garage, Ambient/Chillout :D

that's because it's not the IN thing anymore and you have to go and search for it yourself.
electro house is what's getting to be big now.

I mix loads of other genres already.
Breaks, Hardcore Breaks/Oldskool, Breakbeat Hardcore, DnB, Jungle, Acid Techno, Hard House & Hard Trance. :)

id probably spin some hardstyle if i owned any on vinyl...if i did i would own 28 pieces oh hardstyle - perhaps i will get round to buying them sometime

Electro House.
I'd just spend a big dollop of money on Beatport tracks.
But honestly, all the Electro on beatport new release is freakin horrendous. I flipped through 5 pages of new releases, didn't like anything and gave up.

Like others have said i spin lots of styles anyway, but the main styles id mix would be....
Hard D&B maybe some Jungle
Dubstep
Old Skool/Rave
Trance
Minimal House/techno whatver you wanna call it
