Hey guys got a quick question... If u speed up a track (bpm 140). To a speed of 170 could u consider it a hardcore track? To clarify it would be a techno or trance track.
Thanks again!!!

no, it would be a sped up techno trance song :P
you cant just speed up/slow down a genre and call it another one.. it still has all the characteristics of its own genre

It would sound crap because you don't just speed it up, you have to use other specific samples such as hardcore kicks and basses.
170BPM is known as the speed of a hardcore track though.

If you speed up a Salsa track up to 180 BPM, can you call it a Hardcore track ?

Yes you can use them, it's not a problem. I do that too sometimes with Hard Trance. For example Technikal ( aka Technikore ) uses a lot of Happy Hardcore elements in his Hard Trance tracks, since he's also a Happy Hardcore producer. And it fits well.
