Darren Styles is one of the "biggest" names in Hardcore at the moment. Force came back for a short while working with Jack Speed. I think Force has left again.

Force and Styles split when they wanted to do different things with there music.. I doubt theyll get back together again as darren is on the top of the game working with breeze and other producers, and Force has ukdance 2 with Jamie ritman? and hes doing work with him and jack speed etc.

Im quite sure Force is still in the scene

But i understand what you mean, they were one of the reasons im into hardcore

After doing a bit of research on discogs, I can say the following: DJ Force and the Evolution had 4 members: DJ Force, Darren Styles, Jamie Ritmen, and one other guy who doesn't have an alias.

Therefore, Force and Ritmen have been writing together ever since Kniteforce started. Interesting.

Back in 99 when the scene took a nose dive, gigs for the 2 (and everyone) were few and far between, so Force made the decision to quit music and get a normal job so he could support his family, like any real man would. There were no different music views or anything like that.

He only got back into the music through the massive success of Pretty Green Eyes, Heart of Gold etc by Ultrabeat/Kelly Lorena etc, giving him a stable financial backing to be able to both support his family and leave his job.

His recent departure is something i wont go into because i dont know all of the facts, but i know he lost a shit load of money on various projects, as did others.

I've tried to persuade him to come back and make more music, but to no avail

and the guy above is correct, Force & Evolution were Force, Styles, Jamie Ritmen and a guy named Paul Hughes, who is currently making Techno. Jack Speed was one of the very early artists on UK Dance when it first launched,so again Force was working with him way before the recent stuff.

The last tune Force & Styles worked on together was, Darren Styles - Sound Without A Name. Which featured on Clubland Xtreme Hardcore 1

Force didn't quit because of some music feud with styles. He had a kid and wanted to focus on that.

And he sold UK dance to Jamie ritmen so I assume he's quit again, esp since he hasn't produced anything new in ages.

The MAIN reason is as Starstruck said they wanted to try different things with the music. I saw an interview with Styles about it shortly after they split asking whether they had a big bust up or not. There is probably other reasons too though.

there's always a chance there's more to it than that. i wouldn't think that DS would b a douche and call out Force on a bunch of BS in an interview because it would make both of them look really bad. of course we will probably never know the whole story so best we can do is speculate and gossip about it

No, i have explained above. there was no disagreements over where to take the music at all. Look at Me Now and Make Believe were trance influnced tracks, so he definitly had an interest in taking the music in that directon.

Paul had kids to support, Hardcore wasnt making the money to support his family, he got another job. That's it.
