I've noticed something on my chilli plants and being a bit of a novice grower don't know if it's even a problem! Here is an image:-
*picture removed*
Is that a fungus growing around the stem of the plant? At first I thought it was just roots showing but now I'm not so sure...
If it is a fungus am i fecked or can I fix it?

looks fine mate. your soil looks a bit heavy tho. next time add some sand to the mix of soil adds for better drainage when watering.
Here are some links to some stuff u should consider using if you want to see some mega improvements in the growth of your plant.
http://www.canna-uk.com/cannaboost Use this to grow the plant. during early to mid stage of growth this makes the plant respond better to light and lets the plant bloom. http://www.canna-uk.com/node/537 Use this at the end start feeding this to your plant with water 2 weeks before harvest, This cleans out the plant ready for the chop and washes any bad nutrients out of the plant. as i said your soil is a bit heavy but should be ok just watch how much u feed it as the soil will hold more for longer as its a bit heavy. Good luck (anything i say is for educational purpose only)

meh, I wouldn't worry about that, I have an inside plant in my home and it has little snails (I have no idea where they came from) and different species of tiny plants in the soil, its kind of cool, so a little fungus cant be that bad

ROFL. I wasn't expecting that to be your job. :D haha.
Cheers guys, thanks for the advice! It turns out it's just the plant trying to sprout extra roots above the soil and it's quite normal and nothing to worry about.
Buzz - Nice one man. Will check those out and mix some sand with the soil next time. :)

I'm not even sure man... By the looks of them they were some sort of yellow tai chilli. Got them on the market and just dried one out and used the seeds from that. Got five of those on the go and four big sweet red pepper plants. 8-)
Going to be getting some green beans on the go in the garden next month too!
