Yeah same. As a starting point though, i will say listen to anything and everything by Force & Styles, and Triple J.

Scooter have always been commercial and their Hardcore is generally very different from UK 'Happy' Hardcore.
Although check out Our Happy Hardcore by Scooter, brilliant tune.

I know piano in trance isn't happy hardcore - but it was on a tape by intelligence records who ran mainly happy hardcore :P It's proper hard trance but I just had to put it on.
I never understood the hype surrounding Toytown - never liked that tune.

along with,
Seb - Rainbow Islands (Sharkey Mix)
Q-Tex - Power of love
Eclipse - 24/7 (breeze and styles mix)
Spree - Neverending Hardcore
If you want some good oldschool, what are you after, anything in particular? what songs did you like?
