the way i see it now is little kids running around PLUIRR PLURR PLURRRRR!! gimmie a hug and well go cuddle puddle cuz were so PLURRRR:D:D:D

plur should be thrown out and we (north america because im farly certain out side of here people dont say plur-if you live out side of NA maybe you can comment please) should get back to what it actually stands for and call it : peace, love, unity, and respect.

Peace: dont fight. dont cause unnessisary shit. remain in a state of mind where you can control your self, and keep posative vibes.

Love: not love everyone, not giving hugs cus its plur. Love the MUSIC, love your SCENE, love the ATMOSPHERE, love the ENERGY love being a RAVER or else why are you here?

Unity: no bickering about whos company is better, why is this guy playing tonight, this genre v.s. this genre, promotion wars, scene drama, shit talking....we're all ravers and its not just cliche-united we stand, divided we will surly fall...toronto almost became a prime example of this. almost ****ed ourselves, thank god things are looking up(waaay up)

Respect: respect others, respect yourself, respect the music, the talent, the people behind the scenes doing the work so you can rave. respect security who is not (dispite what you might think) there to ruin your night, respect venues, respect RAVES because your lucky to have them and many people wish they had a scene in their town, and some people have a scene but is restricted by governments.

i dont think people think of this when they say plur. it has become its own thing, about hugs, and cuddle puddles, and 'im new to the scene and ive been told about plur so i run around saying plurr happy rave! without really thinking about it'
im all for P.L.U.R, but not plurr!!

...people are mis-informed(imo) not idiots. the need to be educadted not made fun of. im just wondering if anyone feels the same?

never believed in the word so no lose for me =P

when I first started going to parties there was no such word and for the most part everyone used the ethic of reciprocity.

I never really heard it being said *too* much, unless it was a candy party (I've been only to one, will never go back. Every other word was literally PLURRR YEAHHH PLURRRR).

yea i hear bout plur being associated with all these kandy kids. the last time i went to a rave was 2000, and this whole kandy kid thing was not as big as it used to be. ppl did have all the bracelets and stuff, but the stuffed animals and whatnot was not popular

and plur was never thrown around because it didn't need to be thrown around. it was a mutual understanding that nobody had to say because back then the true ravers knew what it was about, they didn't need it explained.

I myself was never one to run around the venue shouting PLUR to everyone because I already knew Atlanta was a scene of older people who had been part of the scene throughout the 90s or early 2000s, but it was a mutual understanding, but seeing as how what was left of that crowd has moved on, I think the meaning has slipped away as well and the people that are left have just given up on it. I hate it too, when these noobs run around screaming PLUR! at everyone, and I hate seeing people shot out of their mind which is one reason why I am slowly finding myself going less and less to events (That and the lack of hard dance).

the newer generation of kids cant just 'understand' the idea behind p.l.u.r. because (at least in toronto and the way i see it) there is a generation gap because a lot of people left the scene. no one really showed them (the new people) the way things are properly so they ended up with a twisted idea of what raving is actually about.

it SHOULD just be understood though

Also, in my area, they dislike whistles which bugs me a bit. I finally just stopped taking my whistle because so many of them were like, "Stop! That's loud!", and I was like..."its a rave!", but to no effect. Now they wont even allow whistles in Nashville, and I just dont take it with me to Atlanta anymore. PLUR, Whistles, and air horns should be automatic understandings within the rave culture!

ive talked about this before...im lucky to have 3 or 4 whistle in my crowds. also sometimes people will try a whistle but dont really know what for(they never heard proper whistle crew before) so they DO ruin the music by just blowing none stop with no rhythm because they cant control themselves on whatever they're on.

ive joked before, on MTV canada, they had a segment where paul the intern buys whatever he can for $20 on the internet. one time he bought these finger lights that were supposed to be for typing at night, but on the show they joked they were for light shows and the guy took out a whistle and started raving around blowing his whistle in perfect beat! MTV gets that raves have whistles and how to do it properly, yet actual ravers have no clue! sad!

funny to because the film the show in the masonic temple in toronto, were they used to have raves. they had moby on once and he said the first time he came to masonic temple was a rave in the early 90's and someone dressed as a tree attacked him during his set. i bet paul the intern was the closest thing to a rave the temple has seen since 99
