Hi boys and girls! Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to find some good old skool stuff. Looking to get a few CDs for the collection but my knowledge on music back in the day is terrible. So if anyone has some good compilation or DJ's CDs they could recommend, i'd greatly appreciate it!
Cheers guys,
Tom

Bonkers 1 - 7.
Off Yer Nut 1 & 2.
Ministry Of Sound - Hardcore The Classics 2009 (the first CD is an old skool Best of mix).
Some classics. :)
You can also try Best of Bonkers.

Are you talking Old Skool Happy Hardcore from like the mid 90's or you after the earlier Breakbeat Hardcore from 91-93?

I'd tend to steer clear of bonkers as there are many many better tunes out there (Bonkers was good - but I always had the likes of Bonkers in one hand and Tinytots and Charlie Lownoise on the other. Hence why my 'proper' collection is all on tapes.
And this post was of no help at all! haha

Cheers for the replies. Yeah sorry I should have been more specific, i'm talking about breakbeat hardcore. I have quite a bit of happy hardcore but looking for some stuff from further back. Any ideas?

Shameless plug but you could always try my Turn the Lights series if you can find them on download.

Old Skool Rewinds vol 1 by Al Storm and Spinback! It was released in 2005 and has proper undergrond hardcore tracks from 1992, non of your usual shite on there! It also happens to be my favourite ever comp! everyone should own this!

IMO a lot of the English hardcore (breakbeat) was never really on compilations. Quality acts like Automation are hardly even on a compilation. That wasn't the thing back then.
IIRC some of the larger labels like Suburban Base, Strictly Underground and Moving Shadow had the very odd compilation out. And Jumpin' & Pumpin' Records had the "Noise" compilation series.

Some of the ones i have i'm not sure how easy they are to get now. There was a series of 3 albums called The Old Skool Masters Round 1, 2 & 3. They're pretty easy to find if you search for them & are well worth buying too.
