Wasn't Dougal the first ever Best Hardcore DJ at the Hardcore Heaven Awards?
I think Dougal has set a great example for other producers. How many others would have supported Gammer in his early days. The master will remain the master and the apprentice will continue his work

if you disagree you're probably not a real hardcore fan, just a casual listener.
oh and, /thread.
Either way, you're an idiot.

The inlay for "DJ Dougal: Takes Control" says that he was "In 1995, Dougal achieved the ultimate goal by winning DJ of the year at the Eternity Magazine and MTV Dance awards."

You can't complain about his early stuff, but lately hes been hit and miss with me! He seems to a lot of chart music cover versions, which to me is lazy.

I love the way whatever you have to say, you always dismiss anyone who think differently to you. Very mature

Well, I've been on the site for nearly 3 years and I'm not used to it. It still pisses me off.

I find it amazing tho tha he admits he likes hardcore up to 2004 :P
And yea, Dougal has rarelly done anything alone (have yet to hear anything of it myself).
While we're talking Dougal.. on his mix on Bonkers 7, there's a track called Steve Ed - Another Level, anyone know anything about it? would love to get it
from what i can remember it was dougal and tkm produced it under that name but if it was released i don,t know
and yeah got to love the dougal, the first two bonkers cds i bought were 7 and 4 and dougals mixes were the best and i always classed him as my favourite dj,but hes disappointed me recently and as someone already stated he remixing to much shite like ultrabeat, basshunter e.t.c

Dougal is a legend.. anyone who's been into the scene as long as he has, has to be respected.
in all the early dreamscapes (helter Skelters) 93,94,95.. Dougal ALWAYS had the biggest attendances.. for one reason.. he was the top boy.
whatever u say him and Majika.. were the dog's!
and then he was involved in many of the best tunes of that era too..
its fair to say the amount of dj'ing he use to do.. 4/5 raves a night sometime,s he would hardly have time to become a wizard in the studio.. that needed a 'partner' or a second person who wasnt out DJ'ing to stay in all week and learn the new kit.. and remember this is before REASON.. so alot of SH*T to learn..
Dougal would come back and make music with said partner and create a wicked track.. no doubt inputting important elements because he was the guy playing the records that were being raved to and KNEW what worked..
all the top top dj's have similiar set ups when it comes to producing..
slipmatt, Sy, Stu allan, Hixxy etc etc etc (you get the point)
to slag him off for his work over last 9 years is harsh.. the scene's hardly been bubbling with original ideas has it?!
but its looks likes its on its way up so lets not diss the original members of the hardcore crew..
we owe it to them!
Peace

Spot on harry... Ive got a bootleg version of bang 9 by dougal alone :O quality tune. I would agree that gammer is the main drivin force behind their tunes today but dougal is a legend in my eyes none the less.

i think Dougal is great and a very nice guy
Imagine the scene without him.. Like, right from the start, no Dougal... It'd be nothing like it is now.. The tunes he did with people, all the bookings he got with a shit load of people attending, all his album mixes..
The guy is a legend, theres no doubt.
