I'm sure not everyone on here are swivel chair bound, computer geeks and must work out. So, what tunes get you really pumped up for a run, or session in the gym? What really gets you motivated and makes you want to give that extra push? At the moment i've got a few tracks that really work for me, but i'm after some more. Hardcore's never really done it for me when it comes to getting pumped up, Hard D&B and Metal are pretty much the only things that get me going. So, here's my playlist so far...
Current Value - Bruja (amongst some of the Barcode Filthcasts)
Current Value - Dark Rain
Slipknot - Duality
Slipknot - Before I Forget
Marilyn Manson - Fight Song
Bloc Party - Helicopter
Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name Of (best workout tune ever!)
The Game - Put You On The Game
Mystification - Show Me How To Cry
Dizzee Rascal - Sirens
Chase & Status - Smash TV
T.I. Ft Jay-Z, Kanye & Lil Wayne - Swagga Like Us
DJ Mad Dog - Welcome Down
Also for relaxed, long distance running round my local resevoir, Reggae is perfect!
I'm not that clued up on Metal but that's what seems to give me that extra boost the most so i'm interested to hear a bit more of that really, but any tunes that do it for you are very welcome suggestions. Cheers!

Slipknot???? Really????
Nah as far as metal goes, slipknot are very good. Spit It Out is their best track though, or Surfacing. If you like that stuff try Taproot, Spineshank, Mudvayne, Korn, Deftones.
Marylin Manson though???? Just no!!!
Im not sure what I like for working out, don’t workout much anymore, but when I did I used to listen to either hardcore or punk music like NoFX, Bad Astronaut, Lawrence Arms, The Ataris…..the list goes on.
For a chilled out run, try Dashboard Confessional. Anything off the album ‘Swiss Army Romance’ is cool.

To be honest, If I'm needing pumped up for something, I'll listen to some Gabber. I don't listen to it a lot, but it sure gets me fired up!

CREATINE CREATINE CREATINE!!!!!
Nice cheers for the suggestions! Shall be looking into those, especially Redwingz. Loves me some metal despite not having heard too much. I'm not an avid fan of Manson, but a few songs are really good. Check out "The Nobodies" it was sampled in a Gabber track quite recently, think it used the same title possibly on Neophyte.
Fingaz: Don't think Speedcore is the best idea, i'll end up trying to keep in time with it and do myself an injury lol. Like i say though Hardcore never gets me pumped, i suppose cos i listen to it all the time i've gotten used to it and it just isn't extreme enough anymore. "Killing In The Name Of" though that sends me off on my deadlifting way
You on the Creatine i take it Fingaz? How's it working out for you (bit of a general question i know sorry), i've been looking into stepping my training up and finally giving in to supplements. I've never used them before and i've done ok without but i was always a casual trainer, not any more though. Been thinking about some Promax and just sorting my diet and training plan out, i don't know if Creatine is like the next step up and is a bit more extreme or what....
EDIT
Just thought of some tunes to add to my list. Pretty much every song from Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory album. Gonna go dig that baby out now

When jumping on the trampoline or jogging I usually listen to freeform hardcore, goa trance, some occasional rock, and/or breakbeat/big beat. With most other exercises I listen to gabber.

I used Creatine when getting ready for a Body Building competition but didn't notice much difference tbh,
and didn't pay for it either, as the gym's owner was sponsoring me but I'd have been disappointed if it had cost me.
As far as music is concerned, imo, something deep is to be preferred as it helps you draw your strength from within
rather than becoming unduly aggressive from something from without, if that makes sense.
So, Trance, Psy Trance, The Cure.... something deep.

Didn't know you was a body builder, you still into the competing side of things? Think i'll leave the creatine and just improve my diet and increase the protein then. Cheers Iono.
I've noticed that with deeper music, sort of like a meditation, chi thing lol. I've always found Eryk Orpheus - P.V.C. a real boost when running, but i've never tried deep music for stuff like weights or working the punchbag. May have to give it a bash, just have to find some Psy Trance. Thinking about it, Dubstep could be a good training soundtrack too. Tis deep and calm, but with real aggressive elements. Hmmm......

Any Gabber really is perfect! Preferably harder of course.
Ionosphere what you say makes more sense however, never really thought about that much.

A lot of Hard Freeform, such as Suicide ( A.M.S. Remix ) - DJ Kurt. I listen to that when I go biking.
And I noticed something quite interesting. I always do like 2 hours of biking per day, always with the headphones in my ears. However, one of them doesn't work anymore, that's why I'm not taking my iPod with me anymore when going biking, coz yeah, mono sucks..
And since then, I'm driving much slower. When I used to listen to Hardcore, I was driving on full blast for like 1 hour and a half or something, it really pushed me. And now.. well, much much less.
