Anyone else here like all those anime movies by Hayao Miyazaki?
ex. Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, and a bunch of others.

I have the Studio Ghibli collection that has all the movies up to Spirited Away so... up to 2001. I've watched most of them expect for a few, gotta say they are amazing.

Hell yeah. I rewatched all the ones I saw when I was younger, and I can say they're so much better when you're older and can understand the metaphors he uses.

Damn man, I just put all of 'em on my ipod last night. His best is Princess Mononoke story wise, but the best one artistically is Spirited Away hands down. You should check out both if you're into anime, or just movies that are about more then just action.
EDIT: Speaking of animes. I'm trying so hard to watch Ghost In The Shell (movie, idk if there was a show), but it seems so stupid to me. If theres anyone who can convince me it's awesome, I'll try to watch it again tonight.

Yeah I am into movies but I don't get any chance of watching them.
I'd say my favourite is Lethal Weapon 4.

Nice, I just bought Howl's Moving Castle on amazon a week ago for $3 (USD). Came in the mail and it was the japanese version (Cover art, menus, and all). Still figured out how to get the subtitles on eventually. Great movie.
I don't know about the UK, but his latest movie "Ponyo" is being released at my local theatre in about a week. Me and my girlfriend are probably gonna go see it opening night. I just hope the really hardcore anime fans from my school don't show up. They were in my art class last year. Having to listen to them talk about Naruto everyday made me regret signing up for the class -.-
You'd think such an interesting genre of film/animation wouldn't attract such an odd audience that makes you hate your life when you're around them.....
Edit: But they're painting one of the walls in my school with a mixture (colage?) of a bunch of classic animes, so they're okay I guess.

Ghost in the Shell is awesome. As is the second one. Just need to pay attention to what's going on.
Ninja Scroll is well worth a watch too!

Alright, it seemed hard to follow. But it looked kind of like the Matrix, which I loved. It was 5 AM when I was trying to watch GitS. I'll give it a try tonight.
Some more animes I'm gonna buy, tell me if you've seen any and what you though:
-Tokyo Godfathers (Directed by Satoshi Kon, who directed "Paprika". Fxcking pick that up if you haven't)
-Perfect Blue (also by Satoshi Kon)
-Possibly, "Castle In The Sky" (one of Miyazaki's from the 80s)

Yes give it another go with a straight head. You'll be glad you did.

I've got this. It's good but it's pretty messed up. Fake rape scenes and shizzle.

Iv watched spirited away about 5 or more years ago. I was sick at the time and thought it was ****ing weird and didnt make any sense what-so-ever. I didnt like it much at all. I know a lot of people love it but it just wasnt made for me.
nakk - its the one with an abandoned amusement park, pigs, this guy who can turn into a dragon and gets attacked by bits of paper (i think) sent by some evil bitch. the little girl has to work with these spider things to make dinner for the evil bitch. there is also some massive mud pool that an elephant or something comes out of or goes in to. im talking seriously messed up weird.

You should rewatch it. It's pretty deep.

I loved Death Note, but once L died I couldn't watch it anymore, so I never saw the last 8 episodes or so.
