thinking about going to peru for 10 weeks to do volunteer work. I'm doing bugger all at the moment, just sitting at home on the computer and cooking things during the week and going raving on the weekends. parents are offering to pay for me to do this

I'd do it. how often are you going to get to do something like this when you get older?
maybe you could go to the andes & look at a bunch of incan stuff while there
plus volunteer work in a foriegn country always looks good on a resume

yeah, I'll get to do a 5 day trek to Machu Picchu. i think I'm gonna do it. looks like a fair bit of hard work + no internet for a few months but it looks pretty good. i need to sort myself a solar charger for my ipod though.
i might be able to get a round the world ticket instead of just return to peru and back as well, then when i'm done i can head over to Europe and hit some raves up.

leave the ipod behind too. your experience there will be richer for it, i'd think.

sent off all my applications and stuff the other day and just got off the phone with them and i made it into the program :) so it looks like I'm gonna be off to peru in November. little pissed off that i'll be leaving 3 days before deadmau5 and crookers are playing but i'm sure this will be more fun anyway.

Your going to pay to work for free? Wow. Anyway it would be worthwhile just to visit Machu Picchu.

my parents are paying for it and it's tax deductible cause it's with a non profit organisation.
were it my money i probably wouldn't be so quick to jump into it but i think this will be a hell of a lot more worth while than a normal holiday.
