However, the flipside should've really been the "A" side. "Nothing There" is HUGE and, IMO, it's much better.

I also agree that it's kinda weak that they stole the same piano pattern as skydiving. It's not complex and it's different chords so it might not be intentional but...

I don't like the structure. The lead is pretty good and it should've just kicked into that instead of the vocally half chorus part.

Vocals are well performed but I don't really like that kind of male vocal.

You guys should listen to the flipside to this. It's ****ing amazing.

I'm a huge fan of Darwin but can't say I like this track at all... and I'd also agree that for the most part male vocals don't suit hardcore with a few exceptions. I also agree 'Chwhynny & Darwin - Nothing There' should have been the A side, that tune is nothing short of f*cking amazing, I think it might even be my number 1 tune of all time! I want it played at my funeral lol.

Try this one instead: Dougal & Gammer - Don't Say Goodbye
That is a much better track with the same name, and can be found on the HTID2 album just released on disc 3, track 2.

EDIT:
An example of male vocals in a hardcore track that I really like is 'Supreme and UFO - This Time' which is forthcoming on Turbulence Hardcore. It was played on the Next Generation Podcast #6 this month. (Kicks in just after 51:45 for anyone whose interested.)

To be honest I think the 30 min mix by Supreme and UFO on that podcast was nothing short of brilliant, liked every track.

i love fraz' voice. it's a pretty average tune though, nothing i'd write home about. it's definitely no "save our love".

plus what is with this bitcrusher effect like EVERYWHERE lately!? i mean, it's a nice effect, but overused it is annoying as heck.

and it is overused lately. and yes, it is in the same mode as skydiving but it's dissimilar enough to not be copying.

it does have that effect from heartbeatz though, the "wah wah waaah".

Its all about the years 1994-1997 for me! Roll on the 2010s for a mid 90s revival!
