My dad subscribed to Sirius I think three or four years ago. We thought it was the greatest thing to happen to radio, and it was. Commercial free, larger playlists without many repeats, and a wide variety of stations.
The next year it got even better. They added the Sirius Punk station, possibly the only place besides college radio to hear the punk music you won't find on your local radio stations.
Sirius combines with XM a year later. I thought this would be the greatest thing since we got Sirius. While we rented a car after being in an accident, the car we rented had XM in it (this was months before the merge). I found this channel called The Station. It was the coolest music I'd ever heard (at the time I didn't know what Electro/Progressive House was). I sat in the car for a couple hours every once in a while just to listen to it. As you can probably tell, I was excited to hear that they merged.
The Station is not there. Neither is the good Sirius electronica station. This merger led to the complete downfall of the good stations. I figured every station from both companies would be there, but no. Instead they took a select group of stations and only had those (including the 40s and 50s music stations, wtf)
Couple weeks later, Sirius Punk is gone. , and Sirius tells us to listen to punk, we need to listen to Faction, which is a station that just has Bam Margera and other *******s talking about how drunk they get, and they play maybe a song an hour. Now there is nothing worth listening to. My dad unsubscribes, and here I am now.
Just thought I'd rant on this radio for a little while.
*I did find a good station called The Area which has some nice electronica. I'm listening to it now on a trial account. Other than that, it's filled with worthless stations.
Question: Has anyone else unsubscribed from satellite radio because it has been getting progressively worse?

I avoided this problem by never subscribing.

my wife had xm in her car mainly for the comedy stations & xm kids
it's ridiculous that they got rid of a good chunk of stations people listened to when they combined the two. you are more than welcome to get other stations...they'll just charge you more for it.
if they lowered the price on it and/or brought back all the stations it would be worth it...until then it's a luxury we can do w/o
