Just wondering if any of you are on Tiscali and have had the problems iv had with them?
My internet runs slower than a chav to the probation office, ALL the time
My intenet goes down about 30 times a day making me have to reset the router
(that is the major problem, when someone sends me a mix or i try to download ANYTHING it doesent stay on for long enough to do it)
My download/transfer speed is completly gimped (just ask anyone thats tried to send me a track over msn or mediafire etc)
Its impossible to play online games with the constant connection loss and slow speed (actually quit playing FFXI becuase of this and its also lost me a fair bit of money on online poker from D/Cing halfway through a hand)
Me and Bruxx were planning on applying for radio shows etc but cant because if we come here the connection is not reliable at all.
I know alot of those problems are just 1 problem and different scenarios lol but it really does limit alot of the stuff i can do.
The bad thing is because i dont live in my own house at the moment i dont get to choose the isp. So switching to Virgin is not an option.
So just wondering has anyone else had problems with tiscali?
If so what did you do? Did you call them and did it make a difference?
Or should i just beg and plead and try to get a different ISP?

I was on Tiscali when I was living at my mums, they where the worst company I've ever used.
I had all of the same problems you've put down plus more. Don't bother phoning them because they're just as shit over the phone as they are at providing a good internet service.
They're total bollocks of a company.

am with Virgin, speed is absolute crap i feel they should give discounts for those of us who NEVER get anywhere near 8mbit, i might as well be paying less and getting 2mbit internet, would be the same shitty speed
still on adsl, they havent run fibre optic out to this part of the sticks yet!

Seriously i havent got a single positive thing to say about them and iv been with the for about 18 months. Which iirc was the contract, so i am gonna beg and plead to go to BT then if they are actually good Afb?
The reason we didnt change to virgin is because my Grandad (yes i know its sad that i live with my Gdad but i dont care he kicks ass lol) doesent want the lawn or drive dug up etc to install it but as far as i know BT will just run through the phone line the same as Tiscali did? Im a bit of a lamen when it comes to all this.
also just another little problem, the wireless router they gave is us shockingly bad. Its almost pointless buying this new laptop with wireless capability since the router hardly submits a signal.
And yea its sposed to be 8mb but whenever iv done those connection tests online even at 4am when no one around here will be online its still absolutly no where near that!

I used to have Tiscali & had endless problems:
When turning on computer. Internet would take between 5-10 mins to load.
Internet speed was terrible.
Internet kept crashing. At least 5-10 times daily.
When ringing customer service i'd be on the phone waiting ages for them to answer. When they finally did they were either rude, useless or couldn't be bothered.
So basically the same problems as you have been having. I switched to Sky & would recommend it to everyone. Very good value for money. Internet speed is super quick, never crashes or freezes. Customer services are always quick to answer, polite & very helpful. Not that i've had internet problems because i haven't.

OMG i forgot about there SHITE customer service, everytime iv rang them iv been on hold for at least half an hour and when i do get through they just say "The internet in your area is down at the moment" even though iv got a friend that lives about a mile and a half away whos tiscali was still on.
Belive me you have no idea how frustrating the constant connection loss is when your woking on a track with someone over msn and you cant get online for most of the day and even when you do the connection speed is so slow that you cant send anything to each other!
DAMN YOU TISCALI!!! :P

....Tiscali.
WTF kind of name is that?
....that's a sh*t name so they've gotta be crap. Don't use them. No problems.
