So started off with safari and everything is good. then after a while videos on youtube started lagging a bit, the vid would freeze for half a second but audio would continue. I swapped to firefox and everything was wonderfully fast. Now its started slowing again, particularly this site, and the youtube vids are lagging again.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this, is it just a case of deleting history or something?

For performance issues, it could be a good idea to go in and clear out some history (generally all except cookies). Make sure that you also uninstall any plugins, addons, and themes that you aren't using. All they ultimately become is needless bloat.
Defragment your computer weekly, and make use of the disk cleanup utility every now and then.
I'm trying to think of what else you could do... ugh, I hate it when my mind goes rather blank.

Could be a video card problem.
Do you play any games on the computer to notice any lagging in games? Drop in frame rate?
Could also be a processor problem too.

dont play games. just updated flash player. seemed to fix it the video problem at least. il see how it goes.
As for speed, it can vary. this site in particular can be perilously slow, can take up to a minute to load discussion forum page. can be fast at times. meh. doesnt seem to happen at all on other sites.

my youtube was always lagging and never loading on firefox so I switched to safari and it works wonders. It craps out every once in a while but if it gets real bad I just restart my computer after clearing everything out.

How much RAM do you have? If you don't have much, trying to run multiple things at once (Multiple tabs, included) your browser can be slowed down a lot.
Also, what OS are you using? If you're using Vista, and only have like 1gig of RAM you need more. Vista takes a lot of memory itself alone to run. RAM doesn't usually cost much, but upgrading it will show better performance, and it's really easy to replace. You just pop it in (literally).
You just have to make sure your computer can handle it. Which, if you have a stock computer and don't know if your computer can, any computer store could tell you. Considering they have internet to look it up, or you print out your specs for them.

I'm still not having any trouble with YouTube, but HHC.com has gotten slower today for me.
I click on Forums, and it takes a good minute to even go through and load. Could be something server side, Silver? Don't know, but this seems to be the only site for me slowing down considerably.

Did that; 1-30, and timed out 17-30, and timed out on the second try.
Tracert www.youtube.com, timed out 2nd try, rest went through (3-19).
Tracert www.dance-tunes.com, timed out 2nd try, rest went through (3-13).
