"Hair straighteners have been introduced to three schools in West Dunbartonshire in a bid to encourage more girls to take part in physical education.
The local council bought them after teenage girls said they worried about "bad hair" after sports classes.
Nine sets of straighteners have been installed in the female changing areas of three new "flagship" schools in the area at a cost of about £800."

I didn't realize having bad hair after pe could get you out of exercise =P
we didn't have a choice when I was a kid, you either participated or you failed...well there was the time I fell off the parallel bars and split my chin open. that got me out of doing gymnastics in pe and I got an A w00t!

There have been talks of banning competitive sports in English schools altogether. :-/ Go England. Soon all the men in the country will be taking hairdressing classes too.

Hair straighteners belong in Hollywood interpretations of schools, not ones in reality.

They'll be replacing them every couple of weeks when they all get nicked as well...
Some people really need to get over themselves. 'Messed up hair', fuxake. How vain can some people actually be? I had to put up with being a sweaty mess, and not exactly smelling too pleasant after P.E. I never complained about it.
