No. I'd think he were a twat too. Do you honestly not see how nuch of a cheap novelty this makes the music appear? Pop artists have calenders, Hollyoaks has a calender, page 3 girls have calenders (the latter i apporve of muchly). If the calendar is to be of Hardcore artists posing like boyband gayers then the whole thing is just embarrassing. No wonder people think Hardcore is a joke.
well firstly, this debate is one of the ones thats hard to cross the pond with, imo. i see where you guys are comming from, i really do. but when you say things like 'pop artists have calendars' and its expected to have a negative conotation to it, it fails. (que north america disagreement) you are talking to people without scenes period, or scenes that at their hight, no matter how much we argue our parties are great and they are, can even be compared to the parties, or the collective scene in England.
may not seem relevent, but i think this is a big point. the philosophy of someone involved or interested in hardcore in North america, is just different than that of europeans. i like this idea because over here, any small way of growing the scene, or exposing the music, or supporting artists, is to be suppoted and id be thankful that someone has the effort to put together something even that small. keep in mind its JUST A CALENDAR! seriously. if people think hardcore's a joke because of a calendar, i dont think they'd give it much of a chance anyway.
personally i see people on this side of the ocean, that think hardcore's a joke because of the lack of ligitimacy in the genre.
to me if this calendar is successful than
a) people want to have their hands on anything hardcore, this means a healthy scene
b) there is enough promoters to buy the space to advertise parties when they can do so else where for free, this means a healthy scene
c) there is enough demand to want a calendar to tell people where the main events are happening, this means a healthy scene
d) people have enough resorses/time/drive in the first place to put together a calendar, this means a healthy scene
e) whizz MIGHT ACTUALLY make some money, supporting an envelope pushing artist (weather you like him or not, still envelope pushing) which means a healthy scene (JUST CUZ YOU AINT MAKIN THE MONEY DOESN'T MEAN SOMEONE'S SELLING OUT)
f) one more piece of evidence showing hardcore's GROWTH not decline, weather it's catered to you or not. this is most deffinetly proof of a healthy scene.
i stop there because im bored of listing things.
from my stand point it's so much easyer to find the good in something like this, as opposed to the negative views of the big boys doing something else to make money and fame and looking gay doing it.
to me that says, i wish i were making money, i wish i was famouse enough to be in the calendar, i have less than confident feelings about my own sexuality because i have to call someone else gay because they possed in a picture aimed at just a guess, young girls.
maybe people think hardcore's a joke because the people listening to hardcore keep insisting that its terrible.
just a thought... maybe im way off...

You are. I have no desire to make money (my current job proves this), i have no incling to be famous (i'm rather shy) and certainly have no desire whatsoever to pose for a low-budget, frankly, laughable calender, or any other calendar for that matter, unless i featured in an x-rated calender along side cheryl cole :D. Also my sexuality is quite comfortably set to clunge fan, just this calender is gay. And people think Hardcore's a joke because they have ears and for the most part taste.
EDIT
This post may be a bit jumbled, with grammer and spelling errors but i'm tired and bored of this qhole discussion now.
