Which one would it be? Tired of reading the whole LCD vs Plasma debate. I want your pros and cons for each if you can. The LG has better reviews wih the Samsung taking a few hits on the cons but the Samsung has 2,000,000:1 contrast (LG only has 30,000:1) and Samsung has 100hz with LG only giving 50hz.
Does the above matter much? I'm stuck over what to choose...help! TV's have never been a strong point as I've never needed to buy a decent one until now

Samsung
more reliability, and probably an all-round better product...
Plus, would you prefer a Koran product, or a classic Japanese product ;)
Its like a Hyundai vs a Toyota... no comparison :)

BULL.
SHIT.
I've had more Samsung give me problems then other products of the same kind; and I take GOOD care of my electronics; if I'm gonna spend a shit load of money on it, I'm gonna treat that thing like a king. Make sure I get my money's worth.
Btw, I have the SAME exact TV you're looking at. The 42 inch LG HDTV; it's a good TV. I've had it for a couple months now, and it's not given me one trouble. The picture is clear, and shows my PS3 games using my HDMI cord GREAT.
Don't know how I ever played games or watched movies before it!
Also, this LG replaced my old 37" Samsung HDTV that I had to send in for repairs 6 times before they let me trade it in for a new TV (The LG), and it's great.
Oh, I will say this though. The Samsung phone I have is the only thing of their's I had for well over a year, and not break or give me some sort of trouble.

Never used their phones, or monitor.
I'm talking about LG's TV, which I have the same one, and never had problems with.

LG are a massive company who supply to a lot of others you probably aren't aware of, and a lot of the old quality issues have been addressed.
Saying that, my Samsung 42" Plasma is a decent piece of kit, but only really shows it's class in HD

Personally neither because as far as I can see neither support 1080p.
But if I had to choose between those two then I'd get the LCD.
Infact, what are you using it for? Will you be gaming a lot on it? If so get the Plasma.

And watch it burn images into your screen.
Plasma isn't worth it, imo.

havent checked the products, but if I where to select a tv, i would rather go with the one that supports PiP (with all inputs, not just Antenna or HDMI) and maybe a dual tuner box, just like my LG 37" does
