Where did it all start for you?
It all started by my dad making my mum pregnant then i was born (the start) lol
Nah it all started for me from being a breakdancer being into hip hop music thats how i got into djing and have never looked back.
Where did the name come from?
Like before my parents gave me it haha Its not one of those made up dj names it is actualy my real name!
What gave you the initial push?
My mum as she was squeezing me out !! :-P
I used to go clubbing to this amazing club in Glasgoew called the Warehouse just as the whole rave scene was kicking off back in 1988 and i drop djing hip hop and started playing dance music immediatly and ended up getting a job djing @ the Warehouse which was aweome....so many good memories from that time man !! That is the club where i made my name and it all spiraled from there!
Which other countries have you played?
I have played all over the world, some of the places are places like America, Australia, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Vienna etc
What was the first event you ever played?
When i was a hip hop dj i used to play at a lot of underground hip hop clubs, as a dance dj my very first gig was at a club Called the Mardi Gras right next door to the Warehouse owned by the same people thats how i got the job in the Warehouse :-) a spun a few tracks there and coming from a hip hop background i was scratching and cutting and mixing it right up and the in house dj had never seen anythihg like that and i got the job :-)
What’s the best event you’ve ever played?
Another tough question there...... it would either have to be some of the Rezerections parties or a party called Gazometer in Vienna, although New York and Arizona arghhh too many good party's haha
What was your first record you bought?
Your joking me aint ya i struggle to remember my own name half the time man lol
What's your favourite tune of all time, the ultimate classic?
There are waaaaayyyyyy to many for me i couldnt name just one, some of my old favourites would be tracks like Future Sound of London 'Papua New Guinee' Voodo Ray there are loads and loads
And when all the partying is over, how do you like to relax?
Is the partying ever over lol Nah man i like to hit the gym, watch shitloads of movies etc and eat out lots lol
How is the scene in your eyes at the moment?
The scene just now is pretty damn massive and healthy i think one of the worry's right now is the whole credit crunch thing, i think its now starting to trickle into the party scene as people cant afford to go to as many partys as they used to, we will jusy have to try and ride it out and see where we are then you know. But the scene as a whole just now seems to be in very good shape!
How big is your vinyl collection? What is your opinion on CDJ's? (the pros & cons)
My vinyl collection is pretty damn huge lol i still have everything i have ever bought since around 1988! The cdj debate i dont like them personaly but its just the way the technology is moving and we really have no option but to embrace it. Being a producer i do like the fact that i can finish a toon bung it on a cd and play it out that night and roadtest it, but they aint no turntables thats for sure, i would much rather play from vinyl, but everything upfront is always on cd so i have to play cd's or my set would sound old you know!
Other DJs you rate?
Anyone who is doing something original and not just trying to do what everyone else is, someone who's bringing something new and trying to push the music and the scene forward rather than just trying to do what has already been done!
Who is/are your biggest musical influences in the world of music & why?
Musicaly i take my influences from everywhere i can and i mean everywhere you have to be open minded when it comes to writing and playing music!
What do you do outside of the dance music scene?
Being honest i dont realy get to spend much time outside of the music scene its my life my job and i pretty much spend everyday involved in it as i also dont just write hardcore, i also write Hardstyle and also gabba so all my time is taken up always in the music scene!
If you had a time machine what year would you go back to and why?
Go back are you mental, i would go forward a couple of weeks get the winning lottery numbers and then go back and put the lottery on haha
Any shouts you would like to make?
I would just like to give a big shout out to everyone that has supported and continues to support me over these many years, its you people that give me the drive and determination to keep doing what im doing and enable me to do a job that i love so much. Mssive thanks to you all.for putting where i am !!!
