Ok, the early 2000s was a 'quiet' era for Hardcore but there where some fine tunes out then as well. It was a far cry from the good old days of the 90s and although there wasn't nearly as many tunes as good as the 90s anthems there was still a few tracks from the early 2000s which really are good!
Two Bonkers came out that year, Bonkers 8: The Resurection saw Hixxy, Sharkey & Sy doing a mix each. Although Sy had an 'Old Skool' Bonkers 1 & 2 mix full of the best tunes of their time Hixxy had a mix of new tunes from 2001 & 2002. Sharkey's mix had some full on Freeform classics, some of the best Freeform tunes of all time! Sy later got booted off Bonkers and replaced by the legend that is Scott Brown who, for the first time ever, had Gabber on Bonkers! Although I find it a hard to find a Gabber tune I like after 1998, Brisk & Brown - Do not attempt is one of the best 2000s Gabber tunes I have ever heard!
I have noticed there are a few people who class the early 2000s as their best era. Back then there was very little 'commercial Hardcore and although Hixxy was getting Raverbaby going, alot of it was underground or Freeform Hardcore. Hard kicks, although not the norm wern't uncommon then like now. You had some very sexy breakbeat tunes and in some ways, tunes from the early 2000s that have later been remixed sounded better before they where remixed. Clubland came beganb in 2002 but didn't invade Hardcore until 3 years later so really, it wasn't that bad back then!
Back then alot of people where trying new things, giving new life to Hardcore. It was the way things should be really, but now the commercial Hardcore has killed the scene off yet the underground stuff will live on!
Whats your views on the early 2000s? What are your favorite tunes? Whjo first went raving back in the 'Dark era'?
UFO - Music Makers
Hixxy - Feel it in the Air
Scott Brown - Blue Room
In Effect - Surreal Nights

Well you're slowly but surely catching up with the times. Here's hoping by 2015 you'll proclaim Amigos Forever to be an anthem.

1992-93???
:O you dont like it!
never said i didnt like it, i love the old skool warehouse stuff, well..some of it - but i was talking 160bpm+ for 1994 - 2005
if i was talking about all musics i wouldnt have even bothered putting a time period as i like music from across the board no matter what era/genre hehe
as far as my favorite period for hardcore im a bit torn, i've loved most periods since the breakbeats started up - i love 99/00 bonkers 7 styled hardcore almost the most...alot of people didnt like it at the time because it was too trance driven...
