as i walked into the bathroom 5 minutes ago to take some painkillers for my burst eardrum i looked at the plant in my bathroom and wondered kind of effect drugs would have on plants.

would you be able to speed up or slow down the growth, strengthen the plants or alter them in other ways. couldn't find much on google, probably thanks to the combination of plant and drug in the search and the millions of results that brought.

gonna post this question around a bit and maybe email it to some scientists or something...

might do a few experiments myself if i can't find any info...

You never seen those dancing sunflowers in the 90s?

I think we all know what happened there

Pesticides are drugs, no?

And that eventually leads to more problems down the line.

Unhealthier plants, stronger bugs, and you need to keep cranking up the strength year after year. Same thing would happen, maybe not in the same exact way, but nature adapts to anything you throw at it.

While pesticides are used in cultivated plants, i can't think of a single good reason to feed naturally grown plants any form of drugs. They have everything they need from nature.

Not much different from human civilisation then.
