"T.L.I. in Manchester with DJ Scott Brown & a 'bounce' set at Wigan Pier with The Sound Selektaz tonight... Anyone coming out to play?"
^^His FB Status....
Don't know why im posting this as a thread im just a bit shocked.
Thoughts?
Sound Selektaz are good, the type of stuff they will play wont be too different from hardcore...just a bit slower and a high pitched bass instead of a low bass.....but my god he wont like Wigan Pier as a club lol....
Wigan is shite to begin with.....and Pier is tiny, cramped to buggery and has a very weird smell.
I suppose out of all the hardcore MCs, him and Wotsee are the only two that could transfer to Bounce and do a decent enough job. Id imagine Whizzkid would sound like a white version of MC B

A commercial MC. I avoide any flyer with that name on it. I remember a few years back (2005) at college the chavs where like 'Whizzkid' is a good MC!' I was listening to my Slipmatt live at The Sanctury, Milton Keynes (1996) CD with MC Charley B. No chavcore back then.
To the Mcs it isn't about the music, it is about the money, the rep & the woman they get out of it. Whizzkid could MC at an Old Skool set and would rample the same as he would a Hip hop concert. They have the rhymes planned and the fans waiting.
The 2010s will see and end to 'Bounce' as it will soon be classed as last decade & no generation of chavs wants to listen to what their older brother and sisters where listening to in the last decade. 20 something chavs listen to HTID downloads off Limewire unlike their 30 something brother, sister, aunts or uncles (who all have 10 kids each) who listend to dreamscape tapes back in the 90s.

Considering the awful excuse for main room Hardcore these days i wouldn't have thought it was much of a surprise. Same genre really. Both equally terrible.

Well both him and Storm are good MC's and have been MC'ing since the 90's; it's the fans that have given them the status they now have. They are only responding to what people want.

The only differnece is 'Bounce' has the donk & Hardcore has the bassline. Both sound the same as the kind of stuff that was being pushed onto us back in 2003, the last year of decent dance music (alongside terrible stuff)

You do realise Whizzkid has been Mcing since the mid 90's, same with storm. Infact the first rave i went to (Energy 2001) had whizzkid Mcing in the "Old Skool" room and it was wicked!!!
Lol the Mc's are just in it for the money?! What about your hero Scott Brown not letting his sets be on tape/cd packs etc so he can squeeze every penny from his own productions. If people are in it entirely for the music then surely they'd give there stuff away for free. So dont give me ******** about Mc's are just in it for the money. Anything i do im happy for it to be free (i know im not exactly top tier or even up & coming tier but still...) iv never even asked to be paid for any gigs iv done.Free entry and the chance to be on stage and be part of this music thats been my life for the past 15 years is enough for me.
Most of the up and coming Mc's i know to get noticed drive around the country to go to pre-partys and try to get on the mic and get paid **** all, they do it because they have passion and because they want to! Sorry but if you were in touch with the modern scene even slightly you'd know that not everyone involved is in it for money/fame etc.
Not having a go smoogie mate just sayin you can't tar everyone with the same brush.
The pussy on the other hand is a good point, most people i know that "Spit" do it to impress women. I write lyrics because i have a passion for song writting and im damn good at it aswell. And i only Mc live when people ask me to, iv never once tried to get a gig. But i do Mc to "Urban" stuff because of women, either to impress them or majorly piss them off and it always works :)
Just to clarify aswell i dont have anything against Scott Brown i think hes a legend, I was just using that to make a point.

Im not saying all MCs are in it for the money, but there do seem to be alot of guys who are attracted to MCing because it has that 'cool' look that Hip Hop artists show off. MCs seem to be treated as popstars (even if they don't get paid much) and seem to enjoy getting the girls after them. I knew one guy who used to MC at loads of local Hardcore nights, a good MC but as soon as he got bookings to play Hip Hop or Garage he dropped Hardcore like a stone.
The first CD I owned had MC Storm on it, not as load as he is today but he is there. Alot of people do work hard to get noticed as an MC but as in all parts of music, there are some who are in it for the money and show lack of passion for the music once it does out or they get a better offor with more money.
Notice how many Hardcore DJs started playing & porducing Hard House in the early 2000s and returned to Hardcore when it started to sell again?

i wouldnt exactly expect him to say, "no way man, im hardcore... im like totally anti-establishment, I dont do bounce"
dont really know where to begin but that will do.
And for the last time on this website, unless set topic is posted by a new member with like fewer than 5 posts i will state....
...if you arnt in it to try and get somewhere, but not make some money,be a DJ/MC/producer or especially a promoter YOU ARE STRAIGHT UP RETARTED. Not a single one of the artists on this website, or most of the avid hardcore fans, would say no to money for a gig...so why do we give hell to the ones who try and make some money. Yes they are on another level, but they deserve to be there.
ftr if you do DJ/MC/porduce/promote and you arent in it for money that IS OK...but you trying to break even still, free enrty here, drink tickets there...ive travelled a couple hours to perform for nothing but with the understanding that the next time im not free...the point is, you dont have to be money grabbing but you DO need to survive.
look. if i could work as , say a teacher by day, and be a big time MC (lets say i get nominated for hardcore heaven awards) and do the MCing for free? i would do it faster thatn you could explain it.
if i could then give up the day job and get paid enough to keep my standard of living by doing nothing but music and gigs? i would quit that ****in job SO QUICK.
all of you...ok not all of you lol, need to get the hell of your high horse and stop acting like because YOU DONT make and money, that no one SHOULD be, or that given the same opportunities you wouldnt cash in too.
hey fingaz! i pay you wizzkids salary for a gig and get you out to canada and a place to stay...but you gotta do a donk set...you gonna turn me down?? comeoooon man your so down right!? lol
oh and just for information purposes i wouldnt expect most of you to know...but over here...lol **** people dont even like JUNGLE MC's, so to be a hardcore MC although it has impressed a lady or two, for the most part 'pop star' is about the furthest thing away. pretty sure most MC's love it, weather there are other pay-offs or not. i dont think you could write anything half decent if you werent into it.

you are probably right...
but it is, nonetheless a scratch upon his name if he is MCing to that absolute joke of a genre...
