Right, my misses was told to watch a film called "August Underground mordum" or something like that by one of her sicko art student friends and she spoke to me on msn while she watched it, she was nearly sick and had to turn it off after about half an hour.
Apparently there's a hell of a lot of truly TRULY sick shit in it and im not exactly squemish so i was thinking about watching it to see what all the fuss is about. But then i googled it and read up about it on Wiki and some of the things that are in it truly do seem disturbing, i wont list what.
On the IMDB forums though there's a few topics about "it's not meant to be a hollywood blockbuster horror film, it's meant to be a true depiction of a serial killers home movie" which kind of makes me want to watch it as i think that would be quite interesting. And especially since the special effects have been the only thing that pretty much everyone has been positive about, i'm assuming it looks very realistic as well.
But i don't wanna spend an hour and a half watching what is essentially a simulated snuff film......
So anyway has anyone seen it or any of the August Underground films?
Is it really that bad?
Will it warp my mind more than it already is?

It's a horrible film, I remember watching it last year, It's truly sickening, and if the half hour is bad for you, I wouldn't even recommend watching the second half of the film.

Just had a quick read about it and it does sound a bit sick.....I would watch it cause I always think a film cant effect me that much. People used to bang on about 'Requiem For A Dream' being sad and like crushing and demoralising but I didnt think it was that good, most of them got what they deserved tbh.
Finding it on DVD for a reasonable price would probably be near impossible though

As a rule of thumb....
If something's reported as - "Apparently there's a hell of a lot of truly TRULY sick shit in it"
and it stirred my curiosity....
I'd be worried about myself.

Lol everyone loves a bit of "Sick & Twisted" now and then im just not sure weather this is too extreme for me lol.
Im getting Bruxx to watch it before i do because he's warped aswell so if he finds it disturbing then i know definatly not to watch lol.
And i bet some people off here have been searching for it or trying to watch it since this thread haven't you ;)

It's more a sense of "is it really that bad" for me. I remember when Hostel first came out everyone was saying how sick it was and critics and what have you describing it as the sickest, scariest film in decades. I wanted to see for myself, so i did and it turns out it was actually quite timid. Looking at the wiki page i doubt that will be the case with this film but what harm can it do to watch it? Does it mean i'm a peadophile because i want to watch the film? I watched Garfield the other day i'm pretty sure i'm not a chubby, ginger cat with a fondness for Lasagne :P

Must admit, i did a little digging of it, and I agree with Meathead.....its kind of a curiosity thing.
Like if someone said.....the funniest film ever....I would want to watch it to measure if it really is the funniest thing ive ever seen.
This being the sickest thing ever.....i want to see what can possibly happen in this film that makes it the sickest thing 'ever!'
I guess its a marketing thing, everybody wants to know the most extreme thing....wether its the funniest, scariest, sickest or happiest thing.
On a seperate note...........
