If there was life, that means the planet was suitable.

Meaning, there's water on it.

If there's water, we can essentially build a base there. Water is too heavy to move from our planet to another. If we can find a planet with a large base of water, we could build a colony. Build an enclosed base to which to build a city in; the water would help life be supported by creating oxygen, fuel, drinks, and plants.

It isn't an exploration of life, and why. But more of there's somewhere were we could go to in the time of need. How we could expand over our already over populated planet.

Life on earth didn't come from somewhere else. Scientists think that life started with lightning creating amino acids out of atoms/molecules, which eventually turned into protein which turned into cells and then bacteriae, etc.

The lightning-amino acid phenomenon has been reproduced in a lab, too.

they could use it for fuel too. by separating the oxygen from the hydrogen they can make a fueling station in space.

How do you figure that one? It opens up a whole world of posibilities regarding exploration not to mention that first time that we can 100% confirm water on anything other than our planet.
