I like drinking in public houses, I like the atmosphere, you can talk to people, it aint always expensive & you get food. I used to work for Yeats (never again) but I like the good old independent boozers and gastro pubs that are relaxed.
Sadly alot are closing, some blame the smoking ban, others blame the ressesion. You don't have to pay to go into pubs and it is the good start of the night. I like getting drunk, talking about things, moaning about people that annoy me and texting the girls I love. I also like going for a waz (urinate) and thinking about the stuff I just spoke about and plan what to say next. I like going outside to smopke (I don't mind smoking outside) and it is something to do to say 'you going out for a fag?' I only smoke when I drink.
I have drank ina few pubs in my area. One I go to alot is The Talbot in Winton.
Ashley Croos has alot of good victorian pubs. I do like Weatherspoons, there are 7 in the Bournemouth/Poole area; Poole has the Quay (along the quay) & The Lord Wimborne, B'mouth has The Moon in the square, the Mary Shelley & The Christopher Creek. Boscombe has the Sir Pircey Florence Shelley & Winton has The Parkstone & Heatherlands.
My local is The Kings Arms, a victorian pub but with extensions. Serves food and shows sport. You can site out side int eh front or the back. It also has car parking. I like victorian pubs for the look and the British feel but inter war pubs are good as well as they have gardens and feel bigger. There are still pubs I wouldn't mind going into, still need a night in The Sea View a massive pub, and tempted to get zoned in The Bear Cross. Some pubs are said to be 'rough' but I have had no trouble although I look out for chav types, if there are too many, im warey. They ruin it for everyone usualy. Always larey & always got something to say. I also hate competitive guys who try to hit on the girls you are with.
On a good note there are still many pubs left, so keep the British pub trade alive & enjoy them while you can afford it! I might be off to The Talbot again 2moz!
Do you like drinking in pubs and what are your local pubs like?

I think old man pubs are great, nice and quiet and generally sound people, good place to talk bollocks with freinds over drinks. Can't stand town/commercial pubs that play shit music. Full of idiots.

You sound like you love your pubs!
I'm down for anything really. I'll pop along to a pub if my friends are going. Probably choose to go to a club though because I'm totally about the music. It depends how I'm feeling really, I don't think I could frequent a club or a pub. I'm not one to get stuck in a routine, I like travelling about to events and stuff ^^
You've gotta love how friendly some pubs are though, closing all the curtains and dimming the lights when it's time to close but everyone having a drink and a chat inside, great atmosphere!

My local pub smells of piss, the other is full of dicks. There is some much better ones in the village but my mates never go to them.
We tend to drink round each others houses where we can have a mix on the decks and do what we want. £15 odd quid for 30 tins rather than £3 odd a pint helps me pay the mortgage.
Pubs are a rip off. Would rather save the cash and go out to parties, restaurants and do fun stuff personally.

You're a bloke, we get it. Next you'll be telling us you love cars and woman and grunting ;)
I do like drinking in pubs, playing pool and what have you. Pubs can even make watching football and listening to fat blokes in their mid 40s singing Brian Adams bearable.

I'm the exact same. Just don't see the appeal. I like to have a gd smoke when i'm boozin aswell so it can be a bit of a pain in the arse tryin to do it on the sly in pubs.
I also don't go to pubs for the simple fact, I think "old man" pubs are mind numbingly boring! tbh I think its a sad existence day after day slouched over a bar stool swigin pints. Surely there's more to life than that?

All our local pubs are really rough so if I want a drink I go to Brussels town centre or one of the posh areas. Or I just go to the offie and drink at home.

Im off to The Talbot again tonight. Going to listen to some tunage on my I-pod while walking there with a beer in my hand. Karaoke night tonight! In other words, listen to local middle aged woman singing songs from their youth such as 70s and 80s lol
