you can't be serious !! they look like ****ing shite... to be honest i can tell that yellow frisbee isnt even 3d at all, just a yellow blotch with a bevel effect slapped on it . piss poor .
and the artwork is CRITICAL , if i make a grey block in maya , render it , and use a shitty generic font such as verdana for the label name next to it... that is NOT a logo or whatever you may wish to call it ! apparently most hardcore labels don't give a fuk about their artwork... it's called art for a reason .
and i would still appreciate having the knowledge of what these two cumsplats are.

the next generation mascot generally has no colour coordination. The mascot, therefore looks messy and confusing. the 3d model has very little shading, making its features harder to spot. Tbh, it'd look better as a cartoon.

And it's also called music for a reason ;)

To The Moon And Back has the BEST cover hands down.
Shame about the track though.

I prefered the original next gen guy. when they introduced the next gen/blatant beats lp sampler the first thought that crossed my mind was he now looked like birdo =P
much better
was always partial to dwarf though
discogs apparently doesn't want me to use their images =P

I always liked the NG/BB mascots!
When it comes to logos, simple is usually the best! Are you a graphic designer? Have you taken design classes? If you're not and haven't, you have zero say on the topic.
The blatant beats one is actually better than the other - to me it looks like an angry pill. Makes sense for Blatant Beats.
The NG one is supposed to be some kind of next generation humanoid - that also kinda makes sense.
"What makes a good logo?
1. It’s describable
2. It’s memorable
3. It’s effective without colour
4. It’s scalable i.e. works when just an inch in size
5. It’s relevant to the industry in question"
The Blatant Beats one works pretty well for all 5 of those to me. On the other hand, the NG one is less effective. Complex isn't always better.
Look at McDonalds: easily one of the best logos out there (along with Nike). You could just say "it's just a yellow M with a bevel on it!
Maybe - but it's describable, memorable, effective without colour, scalable and relevant. Definitely one of the best logos out there.
Why don't you show us one of your "great" logos?

I have to agree with this.
Kind of hard to attract new people into the scene with something that looks....bad.
For the record, I have taken two years of Multi Media Design, and Advertisements/Marketing. The cover still looks like crap to me, and doesn't bring in anyone new that doesn't already know what the cover is for, and who it's directly by.
