i was thinking about it today, and i was wondering what happens to all your stuff when you go to prison..
do they take your house/possessions?
and my other thought, what if you have a loan? say you have like £50,000 or maybe a mortgage or somthing...i mean you cant make payments on that whlist you are banged up
anyone out there with some legal knowledge?

i know that all that stuff that you have on when going to prison (clothes, wallet, jewelry, etc) is supposed 2 be kept in storage at that same location and given to you when, if ever, you are released. but they say that the prison guards end up looting the good stuff from those bins
and i believe it's kind of like death, the existing family inherits the property, and i'm sure even the debt. but i'm not 100% on that tho

This is true.
If you're married, the other title holder of the house will take sole property of it just like if you were on a really long vacation. And with the loan, they'd probably just take your shit to pay for it.

When i went to prison i could of (i found this out after) kept my job if id of explained what was going on and claimed something to pay my rent for me but at the time i didnt expect to get sent down so i didnt even look into it.
Debt still stands and grows intrest as i unfortunatly found out when i forgot to shut off NTL and it kept withdrawing money from my empty bank account while i was in there and was already in debt leaving me with a 1500 pound to pay when i got out as HSBC are ****s and charged me an insane amount everytime money was withdrawn.
You can still make payments in jail you do earn money, true its next to nothing but you have all your usual rights to your bank accounts and things like that so its possible to explain and talk to people about your mortgage while your in there and stuff. I dont know the ins and outs though as iv never had a mortgage lol

You can, you can offer to pay them as little you can over time and they can't refuse. My mate did it on a 5 grand loan, after a new nagging phonecalls the bank offered to drop it down to £500 if he paid it all at once

Unless the court "freezes" all your assests no ****er can sell your house/business or do owt with your £££
Even if your assests get frozen and your clever you'd make sure you have sumthing hidden for when u get out.. Example, that kurtis warren from liverpool.. Had his assests frozen yet they know hes got a statsh & they cant touch it... Off shore bank accounts where invented for a purpose
