Ah, welcome back dee's weekly serious topic! ;-)
Just a few poorly thought out points from me!
Am i in a minority for being generally happy with the current government?
A big big proportion of legislation NEVER directly affects most people - and even less of us are actually interested! Most of us look for policies that affect us and never look at the wider picture.
It's quite unfortunate that a lot of people will end up voting for the least bad option instead of being wowed by great policies and the promise of great things in future.
Some people are affected more than others by taxes/changes in legislation etc and you can't blame a lot of people for using wealth as a deciding factor when voting. I'm better off than i ever have been thanks to the current government - even taking recent National insurance and VAT changes etc into account.
The recession would still have happened whatever the party leading the country and we'll never know if the Conservatives would have handled it better (until they're in power for the next one).

I stand with you sir
a funny thing it is to be honest, i think is so massively down to the media as well, all they need do is print "british unhappy with govenment" and a few random statistics from a survey of 100 people in londons hippy areas and they can whip up a storm..
i would venture to say a massive percentage of the british public are more than willing to bend to whatever the media tell them, and repeat it to mindnumbing zombified ends.
during the (media named lol) credit crunch - i watched my child benefits go up, i saw prices in the super markets drop...wasnt effected by it in the slightest
still doesnt help me make my choice really i guess, the "credit crunch" would have happened no matter what govenment was in power, i would think its more the way the govenment in power handled it...i dont think they did a too bad a job
i still say mr cameron has the smuggest face ever lol
maybe i'll have some revelation before the election date hehe

Probably lib dem for me. Labour have failed, and I heard something nasty about the Tories about raising Uni tuition fees by quite a bit! Considering I've got 4 years of uni, I'm not going to be forking out anymore than need be. Our local MP is lib dem and he does a good job round the area

Ooooh i heard about those tuition fees this morning :O Thats just a load of rubbish innit? I heard someone say "Why do we want to pay through the nose for tuition fees in Uni, to make ourselves better, to get a better job, to be taxed 40% if we earn over 37, 000?" Seems to have hit the nail on the head to me!
