Hey!

So I have an old piece of Vinyl, it's a Hardcore track from the late 80s, I played it just for fun, and then I thought "ok why not mix a new track in it", I thought it wouldn't work as I thought the track was like 110-120 BPM but I still did. And then it worked! Why? Well because that old Hardcore track is at 90 bpm lol
Ever seen something like that? And no, it's not halfbeat! It's really 90 bpm!! So Hardcore didn't start at 120 bpm like some said, but at 90! haha crap

Hmm sounds like it must be half-time to me. Like when a Hardcore tune has a Raggae or "Rock" breakdown or sample. Got a clip? As far as i know the slowest Hardcore has been made was about 130-140. Is it even Hardcore if it's from the 80's? Have you played it on 33rpm by mistake? haha

Oops.. yeah I played it at 33 rpm haha I'm not used to switch it as all the other vinyls are at 33 :P

I'm playing it at 45 now but it sounds completely weird to me, so unusual.. been listening to it at 33 since I had it for over a year haha

argh!

I was like "Woah! 90pm! How strange is that?!?!"

Then, I read onwards. Sorry to laugh man!

It's ok that stuff that old has the name Hardcore on it but it's pointless to pretend that it has anything whatsoever to do with what we listen to now. It's like classing anything we listen to now as classic musical because that is ultimately where it evolved from, but it has no literal connection whatsoever and it would be silly to say that it does. That is my opinion.

i have to disagree

it has elements of gabber/hardcore, but i wouldn't consider it a real hardcore track. you can hear electro and dubstep influences in hardcore tracks nowadays, but we dont' say that the tracks are electro/dub tracks played at 170bpm

but i really honestly have no clue what you categorize that, but i kno it's not hardcore
