This is the first paddys day i've ever worked and not drunk while my bro and all me mates have been on the lash since 12,good for them while i'm stuck here on hhc.com and then slogging it out in the gym tonight,but awwell sacrifices have to be made

dear dear, not a clever one are we?
one of my 8 biological great grand parent's is 100% irish. she marries an english man.
they have a kid, who becomes one of 4 of my grand parents. They are 50% irish.
they marry another english person and their kid is my mother, 25% irish.
she marries my dad and kissed, and magically made me. thus making me 12.5% irish. or in other mathematical expressions, 1/8th.
The irish blood is diluted down the family tree.

Acidfluxx pretty much explained it, but how did you not know that? All blood lines go down by half per generation, and of course add with the same blood line types between two parents. Just like how I'm 1/8th Native American because my Grandfather was 1/2 Native American, and my Father was 1/4th.
