how can u tell the difference between Hardcore and HappyHard? for example some songs are hard to tell at first unless u got the main 'features' that characterises 'happyhard' , or better put, is there a 'fine line' between hardcoretechno and happyhard?? such as DJ Weaver's tracks (www.mp3.com.au/weaver) are placed under 'Hardcore Techno' but i don't think it should ,, rather 'happyhard', what do u think?
also, i think the main happyhard features are:
'warbling chipmunk female vocals, bouncy drums, great piano rifts, 'lightweight' feel to the music while ur dancin' about, uplifting feelings
but hardcore is like: Hard Gabber drums, 'static' beats, rough noises, distortion, male vocals, plenty of 'mc'-ing, dark feel

stereo-typically, you've pretty much got the definition between the two (although there are male vocals in hhc! ). however, i think through the years the barriers are beggining to break down as djs will play a large variety of 'ardcore in their sets.....

Such as brisk when he play's newstyle tracks with his sets now.
Then there are tracks such as Scuzzlebutt, witch some ppl would call Trancecore, but i think it go's under Hard Happyhardcore, but then again i don't even call it Happyhardcore, i call it UK Hardcore, simpley because it's the UK Style of Hardcore.
My god how long have those mice been living your back fat?!?!?!

At mp3.com.au there is no genre as "Happy Hardcore". Only "Hardcore Techno" exists. But his tracks are Happy Hard.

really, just get into what you like. i love hhc, but i won't go out and buy a track just because it's hhc - i'd have to listen first and judge whether i like it. likewise, i'm not a big fan of trance, but i do own a handful of trance releases, because i liked these ones.
... and no, i don't have any difficulties with genre-lisation. i can pigeonhole with the best of them ... but for the most part i try to keep it simple. when a dj plays a mix of hhc, old-skool hhc, freeform, trancecore, bouncy techno, nu-style gabber and sped up eurodance, i'll probably come away from that set thinking of it as just plain 'hardcore'.
