The man is a legend and i don't care where the music came from! It's about the tunes.

As far as I know their remix was released on the Helter Skelter vs. Raindance presents The Sound of Hardcore 2009 on the unmixed CD2 ;-)

I've met Scott Brown and he was actually a really sound guy. So I certainly don't dislike the man. But I can understand people's point of view. He is the guy who got me into hardcore, but then I listen to his stuff now and it all has the same drum loop and synth sound and it makes me think he's gotten a bit lazy. I mean, I understand that a DJ should try and establish a certain sound, like a Joey Riot or a Sy & Unknown have, but I always love tracks where they try something different. The modern day Scott Brown fits into this category in my opinion. But nothing against the guy at all.

But then again, it could be drawn from Scott said that he was being hypocritical, because he's sampled a lot of other sources, I don't agree with what he said here 100%, "Get some talent, make your OWN music, that's how I did it!", because he hasn't done every 100% by himself. But the fact that he's done MOST of it by himself, including melodies and writing some of the biggest Hardcore tracks of time kinda "cancels out" the cheeky rap or sample ripping.

At the end of the day, sample ripping is sample ripping, it's illegal. Whilst i respect Scott Brown for the large magnitude of productions, remixes, and not to mention dedication to the scene, I agree with you Revs with your point, reflecting on the hypocrisy of his statement.

Yes sample ripping is illegal but what's your point?! Are u saying that Scott has used a sample without permission? I'm sure Scott has asked for permission from the artists he's taken a sample from.

Fair enough, Scott has taken different elements from many songs - so what? The large majority of his songs have all been his own music; especially his bigger tunes so I don't see what is hypocritical about his statement write your own music, that's how I did it! Think it's more of the fact that different artists were copying his style at the time.

Can think of plenty of pop artists who have done the same thing and basically using the whole of another song and adding their vocals on to it. Haven't Westlife basically done covers of more or less all of their songs? Don't even know if they've ever written 1 of their own songs.
